Garage finished
So here it is, the garage finished and planted on the layout, surrounding dirt is still a bit dark as PVA still not quite dry yet. But how did we get to this state? I left off last time with all the walls in place but no floors or roof. These were made from balsa sheet cut into strips with my much used Master Airscrew balsa stripper - an invaluable tool. I didn't bother drawing up any plans for this building as everything was just done by eye. Here we have one of the floorsbeing made up by laying the strips over a couple of pieces of double sided tape to hold the joists in place;
I had dyed the sheet first with wood dye and weathered it up a bit with pastles, I then touched up the cut edges. Incidentally, has anyone else noticed that spell check has stopped working on this site or is it just me?
And hee are two flors in place. Next up were the roofs;
Now, anyone who has been following this blog will know what is going to happen next!
Yes, all that lovely roof and floor crushed to bits!
And here is one to show what this is intended to do - extend the scenic portion into the fiddle yard so the world doesn't end too abruptly. There will be a facia board directly in front of it so this will be the only view that the public will get;
And finally, will just remind you of my two souce photos;
