Weathered Tug!

blog-0553843001438582013.jpgI've not posted anything for a while! I've been flitting between 00 and N a lot recently but currently my mojo is firmly stuck in the smaller world. I've been having a critical edit of my collection, selling off non-DCC locos for replacement with easy to chip locomotives and being more selective in my rolling stock collection. There will be a BR blue layout in the future and most of my stock now reflects this, however...

It's meant I have picked up a treat or two with the proceeds - including this bargain Class 60, which is the Buffers limited edition. I've always likes the triple grey 'big T' livery. Decoder fitted and weathered using enamel washes underneath a coat of Games Workshop purity seal, with humbrol and forge world powders applied on top. I've moved back to using enamel washes but still use acrylics for the details such as silver buffer shanks etc. I managed to remove the cabside numbers on one side but thankfully Fox came to the rescue and I managed to apply them vaguely straight! I'm happy with its grubby appearance anyway :-)
