Welshpool this weekend and rant warning!

blog-0591247001445558997.jpgI just don't seem to have stopped at all in the last few days and much of my activety has been centered about this Saturday's show in Welshpool. Had thought I might leave the rant until later but hell, might as well just get it over with! Hence I just (expletive!), hope that the visitors (and organisers!), appreciate how much work is involved in turning up to a show! Apart from all the stuff that I promised to do to the layout after the last show, the mere act of cleaning track and wheels and packing the whole thing up has taken most of today (Thursday) and then with travelling and setting up tomorrow not much else useful will happen. But I am sure I will enjoy it which has to be the only reason I am doing it!

Ok, rant over until the next exhibition (Weston 14th Nov!) so a brief catchup on a couple of things but before I do a big thank you for all the nice comments on the last post and is great to think that the layout is reminiscent of a photo - because that is what it was based on! Anyway, a promise to Neil Sayer that I would get his kit of the Baldwin Gas Mechanical working for the show is likely to be fulfilled at least in part;

I will write up how i got here in a seperate blog but am afraid although it will be running it is not entirely finished. It is a good example of my new philosophy however, to get the basics working first before the pretty bits.

Other major Brownie points have been won by incorporating our two cats into the layout although little Iz hasn't yet grasped that in reality they would have been abandoned and left to fend for themselves! So here is Maisie not straying too far from home and looking typically aloof;

And Charlie being both a real softy and the greediest cat in the world and not being too far away from the food;

Actually, I really struggled to get a representation of his full gingerness and fear I may not have achieved it properly.

Other big job was to make up a new loco menu for the aid of a guest opperator this weekend - I know all the numbers off by heart of course - I wish!

I would just like to say that, as the organiser of the Weston show, I fully appreciate all of the efforts you and the other exhibitors put in order to attend our show. That is why we try and look after our exhibitors as much as possible. I look forward to seeing you on the day and hope we give you no cause to rant.
