Nailsea Show 12/13 March 2016
Hello and welcome to my first Dovington Camp blog entry.
Dovington Camp is a representation of a rail connected MoD depot depicted in 1990, in the build up to the Desert Storm campaign, just before the end of Speedlink. It has been on the circuit, mainly in the southern half of the UK, for a number of years but during that time it has continued to develop and expand. Starting off at 6', set in 1962, it has grown and expanded as time has passed, both real and as British Railways became BR and moved nearer to privatisation. More details etc. are available here: www.claphammodelrail.com/dovington%20Camp.html
2016 will see a number of outings for DC, including the Taunton Members day in April and Weymouth in October. However, we have been asked to cover for a late drop out at the Nailsea show this weekend. So an extra weekend playing trains awaits.
Never ones to rest on our laurels, The Nailsea show will see another first for the layout. Deliberately designed not to be region specific, on the basis that if we told you where it was we would have to shoot you, we can say that this weekend it will be located north of the border. This will mean debuts for a large number of locos, wagons and services, including our latest Army recruit MOD 244, which has just been posted from RAF Chilmark.
If you are around, please say hello.
