Delph - Crab nearly there

I've previously posted about my ex-LMS Crab model, which uses a Bachmann body on a much modified Comet chassis with a Comet tender. The previous photos showed it with the un-painted tender but it has now been painted and lined, the number changed and the whole thing weathered by good friend David Clarke. Here it is more-or-less complete.

Since the photo, the odd bend in the brake ejector pipe has been improved by correctly locating the vertical pipe through the hole in the running plate.
Front AJ coupling to make and fit, then conversion to DCC and coal in the tender.

Not sure if it really does or not. It might be the photo, the track looks to curve up as well. The tender has CSB suspension, so it could be a weight distribution matter.

Mookie, the loco lining is the Bachmann original and I believe David Clarke used Fox transfers on the tender.

Nice job Dave, I do like a good Crab...

Can I just point out the angle-of-the-dangle of the front steps on the loco, they appear to be trying to escape.

Al,

Mmm...,yes, they do look a bit wonky. I'll have a check to see if they've become displaced when I get the loco back. Again, it might be the lens effect of the photo (I hope!).

Re the tender not sitting properly I had not screwed the tender chassis to the body so it was just sitting and hence the not quite level. It looks much better now the two are screwed together.

He I use Fox transfers for the lining, I use to use a lining pen but the Fox transfers are so good I use them, it is also much quicker than using a pen.
