An update:
Good morning!
It has been getting quite hectic at the moment with everything happening at once, the house move being the main cause for the chaos. I just got to think that at the end of this I'll have a dedicated ''Railway room'' that will be cat-free! Anyway, I'd thought I'd post a little update.
Leahurst Road has now been sold on and is at it's new home which isn't too far from here. I'm a little sad to see it go but I've gone as far as I can with it and I am now yearning for something that has more operational interest and variety. Like I said before, selling it will help fund the ''Addiscombe Project'' for when I am ready to start construction.
I popped into Monk Bar Model Shop in York yesterday and purchased a new controller as my cheap Hornby one was awful. Needless to say I chucked it in the bin quite promptly! I went for what was highly recommended, which is the Gaugemaster Combi controller - and wow, the difference is noticeable! With the Hornby controller there was an very evident loud buzzing noise from any train that I ran, especially at low speed, I thought it was something to do with the trains themselves. When I did a test run with the new controller, everything ran much more smoothly and there was no buzzing noise or even surges of power! I'm very pleased with it
I have been a bit naughty on the 'no more buying trains' front, I did say that the Hornby VEP would be my last purchase until everything has settled down.... but..... I purchased yet another EMU! When will I ever learn? The EMU in question is another Bachmann MLV, this time in the old LSE Jaffa Cake livery. My other MLV, 9004 is in the slow process of being converted to a Slade Green tractor unit 931094.
That's all for now!
