Experimenting with weathering

Having recently aquired a few weathering powders, I have set off on two projects to use them, firstly, a hymek weathered mostly with powders, and secondly a 47 weathered with a mixed media approach, using washes, dry brushing and powders.

First completed is the hymek (there are a still a few bits left, like the staining on the bufferbeam cowling and add wire water fuel and coolant fillers. When I get round to it the pipework on the bufferbeam will be replaced, since IMHO the square main res pipes dont look good (but the steam heat pipe will possibly be kept). The only detailing work I have done is to fit the air tank to the body behind the bufferbeam and add suitable pipework.

cheers, I have added a few more snaps, the ends look coarser if that is the best way to put it, but to my eyes look ok, I have yet to add the distinctive streaking on the bufferbeam cowl.

Also on my list of additions are lifeguards and the multiple working cables at each end when I find a good clear photo of what goes where.
