Layout planning - very early design.

A baseboard shape has been decided to best use the space , the track plan is a rough draft drawn up late last night, and will no doubt change a lot.

The second image is a rough mockup of how the layout will sit in the 'conservatory' if it can even be called that anymore.

Good to see you making a start.  There are a few points that you might like to consider, before going too far:

What type of scenic setting do you envisage?  It's important to think about what goes onto the baseboards in addition to track-work, since you may want to allocate suitable spaces for these scenes.  I notice that you have several tracks running close to edges and you may need to consider if this is what you really want and what treatment you will give to the back-scenes.

What types of operations will you be running?  For goods handling, some head-shunts will be needed to allow you to sort out goods wagons.  Similarly stations or other facilities, like yards, need to allow for the traffic movements that enable stock to be moved in appropriate directions.

There are many people on here who are far more knowledgeable than I am about operational aspects. You might attract their attention more successfully, by posting something in the 'Layout and Track Design Forum'
