All you need now is a pannier says the western man! icon_biggrin.gif

Don't laugh, some panniers worked on the Dornoch(?) branch, so Look out I will! icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif

Hi Nick

just a quick one i managedto see your layout on Sunday at Crewe and I must say it was one of the best layouts at the show there was always something moving despite that sticky point you mentioned on the track to the fiddleyard it was a joy to stand there and watch you shunting around the station. icon_thumbsup2.gif icon_thumbsup2.gif

Keep up the great work

Nick - Really like this thread and layout. icon_thumbsup2.gif

Even though I always seem to model BR Blue [WR] there is something I always find very compelling about seeing a Scottish BR Blue era layout......and this is one such layout.........I guess I should thank Mr Futers for fuelling that fire of interest!

Any chance of some more pics being posted? There was mention of a large logo 37........

Wow, it's not often that a layout inspires me, but this one has even succeeded in me pricing up some plywood, well done icon_clap.gif icon_thumbsup2.gif

It captures the Scottish Highland area very well, any chance of some more pictures???

I would appreciate some photo's of Lochnagar as I would really like to make an exact copy of your layout as I'm into Scottish themed layouts as it was an overload of inspiriation at the Crewe show keep up the great work icon_thumbsup2.gif icon_thumbsup2.gif icon_thumbsup2.gif icon_thumbsup2.gif

Nick,

I'd like to hear your views on how it operates compared to all the fantastic US based layouts you've built

Chris

You should know - you operated it at Crewe!

Enjoyed this and the CSX Miami layouts at the Crewe show. The two best for me anyway. Both you and Chris were both friendly and helpful.

Love the class 24/1 - is this a Bachmann 24 with a Brassmasters roof panel the way George Dent did his in the current Model Rail?

Paul

You're right - it is a Bachmann class 24 but the roof panels were scratchbuilt with plastic sheet. It involved much trial and error and much filing and sanding to get the shape.

Glad you liked both our layouts.
