Having completed the ballast in the Carndonagh station, made a mock-up of the station and got point motors installed (Hornby surface mounted) I’m now moving on to electrics. While the layout is DCC I am going to use a separate switchboard for points as I think that it would be too fiddly to control them all on my Hornby Select (see diagram for the method I’ll use). Of course I’ll have a DCC power bus the length of the layout. With summer ending soon and schoolwork looming, in really want to get a dent in the electrics over the next few days!
