Stour Valley Dream - Driver's eye view

Fen End Pit

I had a bit of fun with a miniature camera.

I've also continued to work on the low-relief malting buildings for the far corner of the layout. I'm rather pleased with the brickwork, just trying to pluck up the courage to add the mortar mix. The different colours of brickwork came out very well thanks to Tamiya masking tape.

I'm quite pleased with the way the loading area looks. Even though you won't be able to see much of it in the end. I think there are going to be two roll shutter doors fitted over this.

Once in-situ it looks about right and when I've completed the two telephone exchanges opposite it should really complete this corner.

In my view,  there is real Stour valley atmosphere in the film especially in the first half where the view is not competing with the window. Excellent!

Great video thank you.

My Grandparents used to live at Sturmer, on the other line from Haverhill. Their cottage was just over the level crossing, down Water lane.

Superb, enjoyed that.  Full of GE and East Anglian atmosphere.  Loved the bit by the river and LX.  The camera looks ideal.  Any idea of the make or source?

Superb video, very enjoyable.

What is your mortar mix and how do you apply it?

Thanks

Glad you enjoyed it. I'm sorry I have no details on the camera, it came from China and, while it has 'Sports DV' and  'UKK@SXA1705S' on the box, that doesn't bring up anything on Google.

I use Wilco smooth surface interior filler, I add a little water and wipe it over the brickwork and then wipe it off. I then final wash over the wall with Vallejo grey wash.
