Confusion With Point Motors

Hello all, I apologize for the long duration between posts, I have been extraordinarily busy with my various other obligations.

I have a question surrounding the function of Peco point motors, specifically the use of the PL-15 micro-switch. Up until about an hour ago, I was under the impression that Pl-10E, PL-13, and PL-9 were all of the parts required to operate the basic Peco point motor, as these were the only parts mentioned in the various tutorials I have watched. I saw the PL-15 show up on Hattons, but I have not found guide which utilizes it for both OO and DCC operation. Are there any benefits to using the PL-15 other than the smaller footprint? Is it required for a DCC layout which utilizes electrofrog points?

Please advise

If you just want to change frog polarity the PL-13 is fine, if a bit crude. The PL-15 effectively does the same as two PL-13s at the same time so if you want to change frog polarity and a signal aspect, (or any other auxillary function) it will do both.

However, the PL-15 is ten times more expensive than two bog standard microswitches from RS or Farnells, its only advantage is that it glues directly onto the PL-10E without having to rig up an actuator.

If you are not using electrofrog points you don't need a PL-13 or a PL-15 :-)
