EFE butchery continues
Whilst I've been predominantly working on my 2mm Grimsby and Immingham stuff recently, I have had a bit of a break from the small stuff to continue building/finishing some more cars for Grime Street
Another pivotal nearly ready, this is the one shown earlier, top deck now built and painted, this one a re-trucked version.Quite pleased with this one, going to have an experiment with home made advertising decals for this one. I want to ty and get some more typical 'Leeds' adverts rather than use non prototypical ones.
Mention was made of a convert car earlier, this isthe progress on this one so far
Again this began life as an EFE Horsfield, the top deck section is built up mainly from1x1mm plastuct section to give the distinctive raised section to teend windows. Lower deck, from plastruct Tower models E1 dashes and rocker panels, with the Horsfield castiing for lower deck ceiling, quarter lights etc.
EFE collectors look away now!
Absolute butchery to another Horsfield, believe it or not bits of this ended up in this
Leeds built a one off 'Austerity tram' in 1943, never seen it modelled so thought I'd give it a go, rather a boxy tram but has some quite distinctive features.
Mainly scrtatch but does have the same EFE upper section as all the other conversions, as this adds a huge amount of strength to what otherwise would be a spindly plastic construction, plus allows easy splitting of the two decks.
