Hello :)

Thought I should put a post together to show what I got upto this weekend just gone.

Firstly there was of course the Abingdon show organised by the Abingdon and District Model Railway Club which as I am a member I kinda went along with a few bits of mine from Highclere.

As it is the 50th Anniversary of the 2mm Scale Association we all made an extra special effort this year with lots of 2mm FS stuff going on. As I was taking the photos thankfully I am not in them but you get the idea.

At the show I made a start on another one of my many tank wagon kits like the one on my old postings but as expected I didnt get much done, so this weekend I also tried out a bit of batch building and the results are below.

I have loads more of them to make but its a start.

Hi Missy,

Thanks for posting those photos - I don't get to many exhibitions these days so it conveys a good sense of atmosphere and has wetted the appetite for the Expo in July.

Those tank wagons are looking good - can just picture the Q1 pulling a long rake through Highclere - keep up the great work, it's very motivating!

That's a fine looking setup Missy, thanks for the photographs. I presume they were taken prior to the public entering? I'm also curious as to the level of interest shown by visitors.

And the tankers look good too! I've several to do myself.

Regards

Michael

Hello :)

Thank you Pete and Michael. The first three photos were taken before the show opened on Saturday morning, the final photo was taken during the lunchtime lull, it wasnt because no-one was interested. When I was sat at the table I didnt stop talking to people at all!

The tankers arent hard to make at all, the toughest bit was folding up the brake levers. I made the mistake of folding half of them the wrong way and when I tried to fold them back they all broke. Fortunately there is a spare lever on each etch.

Missy,

Out of interest, is that a 2FS layout (green curtain) that backs onto the 2FS display and if so, which one?

Thanks, Pete

Hi Pete smile.gif

Sorry, yes it was. It was Jim Allwoods 'Welton Down'

aaahh yes - I see it now - I couldn't quite make it out by zooming and I thought that Jim had an open style display of cassettes in the fiddle which I couldn't quite place!!

Thanks to clarify.

'Welton Down' uses cassettes stored vertically. In the second picture you can see the two cases of cassettes before the 'lids' were removed. The carrying handles are visible at the tops of the cases.

I'm pretty sure I saw a peco tank wagon kit in a box when I was clearing through my storage boxes at the weekend. You can have it if I find it.
