Hi,

Long time, no update! Never fear, I have been working on the Extension of Hythe.

Since the last update, quite a few things have happened. Firstly the Hardstanding has been finished! Secoundly I brought the main building for the layout, I decided on a Pikestuff engine shed kit after my atempt at Scratching building warped very badly. 3 sides of it are finished and painted, the 4^th side has had holes cut out of it, but I'm waiting on buying a Knightwing crane to finish it. Hopefully should be able to buy this at Wycrail (I'll be stewarding there, so come and say hello!). I have also finished the platform for inside the main building, I built it out of 3 layers of 5mm Foamboard and clad the sides in Plastic, this made it very light.

Today I painted the road markings on the hardstanding. I had tried last night with my usual red masking tape, but this left a red line either side of the line I was painting. I tried again this morning with ordinary masking tape, with success, so I went on and painted all the yellow road markings on as well as a section of white hatching across the line leading into the main building. I've also managed to paint the road surface.

I've also made some signs for the crossing saying "whistle" and "5mph".

Before you ask, yes, that is the dinner table, but SWMBO is at work!
