well folks its along time since I posted on my rm blog as been very busy doing lots of other things but just been able to make aquick update vid on the garratt project which was started last year! this is still a working project although please note its not a finescale model ! as this was done out of triang and later Hornby components as a test build to see how we could motorise the kitmaster model!

so here is a quick vid ive done today its not long but you get the idea!

thanks to all those who helped before.

more news to follow shortly once ive got a little further if the weather stays ok I may get round to more painting with the airbrush!

anyway cheers all

regards ian.

glad you like it so far! bit more to be done yet but getting there hopefully will not take too much more to finish off and weather it up!

very nice, but I noticed that it seems to run slower in reverse. just curious to know why, shouldn't be a real issue. I certain don't recall garrets ever being called upon for a feat of speed in any direction! Unless it was to scrapman, in what case the faster the better :P :P. Anyway very nice, I shall now have to go totally mad and buy a nu-cast kit

That is some fantastic modelling there fella! By chance you don't happen to have pics during the build and a list of Tri-ang/Hornby parts used so over people might be able to have a bash do you?

cheers guys thanks for the comments! and yes it runs well in both directions I was on camera duty and my dad was at the controls of the loco! as its bit difficult to do both controlling and recording at the same time!

could not put it on the layout as we have it in bits again! so had too use a couple of lengths of track for the test run as it had been drying from painting!

we have had a rake of 20 wagons so far behinde the garratt looks the part!

thanks again for all the comments!

sorry but not got any build pics as my dad sorted the chassis out its come too me for finishing and paint job with weathering, its a kitmaster loco kit with Hornby/triang 2-6-0 chassis under it but they do have to be chopped about alot to get them to fit its not an easy job to do and we only had limited ideas to start with as this is the first one we have done that runs we have two others which are static models.

one of the others may get upgraded to either a Bachmann or later Hornby chassis but thats all in the future unless someone wants this one when its done! to help fund the others! we will have too see!

regards ian.
