What to do with no space & itchy fingers!

Myself & family settled in new house/area/job and enjoying a very different pace of life,

its still that 'dark nights' time of year though. I've managed to hold onto the idea that within 5 or so yrs the kids will be grown up and that would be an ideal time to build the layout of dreams.

I've bought a couple of boxfiles and joined them up end to end with 2x1 - and cut out the middle section!- here we go again! :D

You know the only things you can do in a small space is shunt or move locos round a depot. But its the details around it that make the difference. More time than money is the key.

I thought the Old Lane Yard scheme wasn't that big a proposal. Small enough to be lost in a cupboard and set up on a sideboard or table I'd have thought.

Settled on a theme yet?

its drawback (apart from being left on the tip in Yorkshire) was it was not really self contained it had a longish- fiddle plank= if I could get something down to 4X1 self contained it might be doable, but theres not alot of spare cupboard space either.

- I'm no further on in working out how to convert the loft yet!
