Well, I haven't posted much on this blog really. Mainly because I haven't had a lot to post! But having cleared out a few surplus 00 models as I continue to switch to N, I treated myself to another Dapol Dogfish ballast wagon, leaving me with a little rake of 3. No progress on any layout so once again they sit on my garden table!

Looking good! I've just read through your older posts and have to say I'm quite impressed with your weathering. The signal box really is finished off well.

Looking forward to more progress

I can't believe I haven't come across this blog before!

That is some very nice weathering, and really brings those dogfish wagons to life!

I used to use Games Workshop paints for railway modelling a long time ago. I think another visit to the local branch might be in order to see what they do now - those foundation paints sound interesting.

Nick - having seen the results I am extremely tempted. But I am scared to death of building any points!

Andy - Thanks for the praise - the foundation paints are great, and the washes are very useful too.

There was a workshop last year on point building, using Easitrac components. It's worth watching the video to get a feel for it. Stick with it, Part 9 has some good out takes

It's not too difficult, but it does take time to practice new skills. There's enough people on this forum to help you along your way if you want to give it a try. We have a few international members who have done this through the use of threads and blogs.

And some good articles on the 2mm website on building turnouts using both Easitrac and soldered construction here.

If you really don't like the idea of building your own pointwork, there is a 2mm member who builds soldered pointwork to order for very reasonable prices.

Thanks guys, definately food for thought there. It might be a step to far for me at this point though (if you pardon the pun!) - my layout plan is only small so I may just get some things running with code 55 track first and get the basics down!

Certainly looking the art there skip. The frames and inner hopper skin look spot on for colour. I will be eagarly awaiting my next master class, as I just don't seem to get that result :(

I think a few more pics are in order though boss! lets see some close-ups of ya work on here!

Regards

Lee
