Bristol Barrow Road - Shed STOP sign

This morning I decided to have a short interlude from trackwork and completed work on the shed entrance STOP sign produced for me by Chris of York Modelmaking. After spraying it yesterday with Halfords red primer and finishing with Humbrol 5070 acrylic red I spent around half an hour carefully removing the paint form the raised lettering and lines before fixing it to the front wall of the roundhouse. A rather pleasing result.

Wonderfully crisp, and those lines are very fine. I'm guessing the red primer was a typo, else where would the white come from?

Will, the sign is laser cut in white plastic [Rowmark] so red primer is correct. The paint, once hardened, was then very carefully removed with a sharp small bladed craft knife to reveal the lettering and the lines.

Sorry, I was a bit over-confident in assuming it was etched brass! Very clever use of materials. I didn't know you could do 'half etch' with a laser.

might be a daft suggestion but instead of peeling the paint off with a salpel would not a light rub on som verry verry fine wet n dry on a mirror have worked ?

It would have worked but it would have also removed the paint from the raised perimeter of the sign which, as you can see, is red.
