A Growth Spurt

Following two consecutive weekends helping out on other's trainsets I have unashamedly nicked sought inspiration from Ian Morton's shake the box for track plan and Chris Nevard's Catcott Burtle for the water feature at the front and have come up with the new, bigger, improved 4gig

blogentry-6717-0-84647100-1320661918_thumb.jpg

I've got to extend the depth of the current 4ft board by 6" and make another 4x2

I'm currently cobbling together a Scalescenes goods shed, again the OO kit enlarged on the printer to O scale to ensure it will all fit in. The siding next to the shed and coal staithes will be inset, so I'll probably use DAS clay and then scribe some concrete type joins in it etc.

So, Santa, please bring loads of cash for a shopping trip to Marcway for lots more sleepers and BH rail. The double slip looks fun to make :O

The layout is already penciled in for Wycrail 2013, so I'd better get a move on :locomotive:

The water idea came to me on the drive home Saturday evening - I foolishly used the bit of ply cut off the 4x2 sheet when I made the first board only 1.5ft deep for shuttering in the garden - it occurred to me if I had a lowered section on board 2 for some water I could use that offcut to extend board 1  Got any spare reeds?

it's a fair comment, it is cramped basically because the scalescenes shed is soooo big, I think it will be okay, but I might have to be careful where I park the vans on the siding IF I ever run anything longer than an 0-6-0 tank round the loop .....

Would placing a wye point leading into the goods shed instead of the left hander remove the 's' bend and make things a little less cramped? Just a thought.

I know things have gone quiet on the modular front, but will your layout with extensions still be able to link up?

Thanks for the ideas, oddly I've had more feedback here in less than a day than I have had for days on the Templot forum ;) The original track on board one is unchanged so it should still connect.....
