Taking trains for a ride

Its been a while since I did any model making, and even longer since I posted anything on this blog. I have been blogging in other forms. Just not here ! After a long summer and lots of Hospital visiting my mum passed away in October. This has resulted in my Dad and I spending more time together. It seemed a natural thing to find a way to share our mutual interest in model making. To that end I have taken a few tentative steps back into the shed and more tentative steps into the world of R/C model boats.

To start I have taken on responsibility for one of the beautiful 1:50 scale boats he has made. in order to add a little personality of my own to it, I have been working on a new payload... A shipment of Railway stock !

I am now a member of the Etherow Model Boat Club and we have spent the last few Saturdays together sailing. The other boat in the video is the one he chose to sail for the day, again built by him

Very sorry to hear of your loss, and also very glad to see you back John. I've missed your blog posts on here.

The boats are wonderful, what a great idea to add railway stock to combine the hobbies. More of your excellent styrene work?

Hello John. Like Will, I am very sorry to hear about your loss.

It sounds as if you and your father have found a common project, and what a great project. Those are superb boats that your father has built, he is clearly a master modeller.

Your own usual style shows very clearly in the stock, I think. Please keep it coming!

Sorry to hear of you loss, but pleased to hear it has brought you and your father closer together, and his ships are superb! (So are your trains)

Please accept my sympathy also.

I too have missed your blogs, and "Adventures of Pointing man"!

What super modelling shown in those boats.

Thanks for the comments and thoughts gents! I haven't been to the shed for months and spending time with my Dad has re-ignited a modelling spark. In the coming weeks I am going to have a rethink of what the shed houses and how best to use the space. Some stock will go and some will stay.... Watch this space !

As others have mentioned; so sorry about your loss John. It's good to see you back on here... with some more big models again. Etherow... a lovely place! A while since we visited... before we moved south.. but was always a calming place amidst the outskirts of the metropolis!

Glad that the modelling mojo has returned and an interesting subject portrayed.

Jon

it used to be that you could insert videos in media tags, like this:

and it would embed them - I've tried it here but it didn't work, maybe it will in a proper post rather than a comment?
