Gravy Train 4,875 Posted July 17, 2010 Peter, just found this blog, what stunning, wonderful work, thank you for sharing this. I have one question, however, which is to ask how you achieve your mortar effects on 4mm scale brickwork, please? Thanks. Hi Captain, thankyou for your kind comments. The mortar effect is achieved by coating the brick sheet with what you interpret as the the mortar colour on the prototype, when it is dry i then part dry brush the paint colour over the top with a small flat end brush at an angle aprox 45 degree usually a couple of coats does the trick. I have found that the mortar colour plays a big part in the overall colour of the brickwork eg, if you use a light colour and a dark colour with the same brick colour it gives a different overall effect on the brick colour making the colour look darker or lighter if that makes any sense. Another tip is to give it a wash of thinned down matt black to tone it all down. cheers Peter Link to comment

Brass0four 201 Posted August 8, 2013 Harvested onto hard-drive for my own personal use. I love to group your work then run them as slideshows. Delightful and educational, especially if I'm doing something boring, such as embossing, and need to look up and rest from time to time. 'Afternoon play on RT4 and that's me happy. Tony. Brass0four 201 Posted August 8, 2013 Nice to see some contemporary buildings getting the Master's touch. Modern Image modellers should give this a good examination Tony. Link to comment

Brass0four 201 Posted October 24, 2013 Magnificent! There seems to be support(?)-members on the roof-vents; are these to be capped? Tony. Link to comment
Gravy Train 4,875 Posted November 28, 2013 Hi Tony, No, I was asked to make the vents without the smoke deflectors :-) cheers Peter Link to comment
Brass0four 201 Posted November 28, 2013 It was quite common to see them missing. Your client must be going for that appearance. Link to comment
