Hi,

It's been another week of good progress with the Fiddle Yard modules. We have now completed all of the track laying and are now concentrating on wiring up the DCC power districts before fitting the Accessory Decoders to control the points.

Having finished track laying on Module C (the one that had to have it's cork trackbed replaced), we assembled all of the modules inthe club room on Saturday to make sure all of the track at the module breaks were aligned correctly and that the track was level. After a little bit of tinkering, we then set about soldering the rail ends to the screws. Here are a few pics of the modules assembled and with some stock on.

On sunday I turned my attention to wiring up one of the end modules. As the trackwork for Heworth Sidings is blocked, the first job was to interconnect the droppers for each block with a kind of 'mini bus'. Then I supplied each block with it's own feed and return wires (hopefully if we move to block detection, the only thing we will then need to do is intercept the feed wires and pass them through the detection device). The Fiddle Yard module inter connects will carry all 6 of the buses we have chosen to run around the layout, but will only actively use 4 of them Up / Down / Accessories / AC, so the Sidings and DC will just pass through (for now, but we could use the Sidings for the Kick Back and we may need a DC supply for panels / lighting etc.).
