Hi,

It's been a couple of weeks since the last post and progress is steadily being made on the Fiddle Yards and End Loops.

We have made a few small revisions to the track plan over the last month or so, so here is the current plan we are working to

Currently the End Loops are being painted and varnished by one of our group and we should have access to them in the next few weeks, so that we can lay the cork track bed, track and wire them up.

The Fiddle Yards are still in the process of being wired up. This seems to have turned into something akin to painting the fourth road bridge and has caused our deadline for operating the layout to go back to the 8th September to account for the August holiday period.

Wiring the FY for block detection and having droppers every 30cm means allot of connections and allot of mini-bus's which supply the blocks. On average we have 6 droppers per rail over a 4' section, so 12 droppers for each track, allowing for 14 tracks means an average of 168 droppers per module, which means around 840 droppers over the length of the FY. It's no wonder I dream about soldering :O

Here is a shot of Module B, this is one of the simpler boards, where each track is in the same block. This is what it looked like after 8 hours work.

Here is a shot of Module A, having had the four MERG Accessory Decoders fitted by one of the other group members.
