Following a suggestion by Wenlock of this parish, I've added a road sign to the junction at the top of the bridge - it's a Dart Castings "Somerset" sign but I guess Dorset is close enough? I also extended the road into the backscene, and took the opportunity to add a bit more detail and variations in tone.

 

And look who's arrived in his midnight blue Bentley? If Ivo's expecting some S&D trains, he's in for a bit of a wait. But perhaps he'll be able to make do with the Western Region traffic for the time being.

Overall view of the bridge scene - depending on the viewing angle the road takes off in a variety of directions, both up and down, but it looks OK from all parts of the layout.

Oh that is just brilliant. The first shot is so full of hidden stories - a whole road movie in fact :-)

Not a very exciting road movie, though, I think it fair to say...

 

But actually, I'm surprised how good that Bentley looks out of the box, shiny paint and no weathering and all.

Looks great Al!  The lane winding into the distance really gives an  illusion of depth.  Love the road sign too, but then I would say that wouldn't I !!
