Midland 12 wheeler almost there

well so far today i have built up the roof & fitted mopst of the underframe casting but as these are not in the kit i need to order some Dynamos & gangways tofinish of this coachangry.gif

 

I found the roof nice to build & roll thow it was a tight fit between the ends when i build the all 3rd i will build the roof 1st so that the roof will fit better

I wondered why these pictures are not part of your original WB blog on building these models Moz?

 

Coaches are coming long nicely....you are a fast worker! I notice you have fitted "my" pukker Midland Railway 6-wheel bogies (they went to Davids Coaches & Castings then 247).

How did you go on fitting those recessed doors Moz? Also, did you have to roll the etche brass roof?

 

the way the kit was designed made fitting the doors easy to fit as they had a 90degre fold from the sides to give you the recess the thses had push out tabs to locat the doors

the roof i had to roll but the roof is made up from 5 long etches plus 5 ribs/formers the loow roof was 1/2 etched so was nice tp rollbiggrin.gif but the clerestory roof was not & was a pig to rollangry.gif

Looks good Brian, I have used 5522 parts on some of my coaches and think that they are quite well thought out, Alistair designed some of the Lochgorm range
