Great rant, I hate unboxing videos with a passion. If I ever do one all you will see is packaging flying then a locomotive being produced for the camera, front, side, back, bits and pieces quick look 10 seconds a side then bam, on the track. Job done. No reading the blurb, no instructions reading no patronising disclaimers just here's the box, here's whats it in, is it any good? Yes or no. 

Yup!

 

I wish I added in the video another often endured pointer and that is that "if you look at the box front you will see there is a picture of the locomotive."

Brilliant video mate! I was watching one of these "unboxing" videos a little while back and it's arguably the most painful unboxing video ever. It takes 10 minutes before you even see a train! The bloke has bought a DCC train......but doesn't have a DCC controller or even A LAYOUT TO RUN IT ON!!!!! WT.....

 

Why was this shot on a merry-go-round on a ship in very rough seas?

Want to see annoying?  Just watch this video as it whirls about with auto exposure going crazy.

 

I agree the unboxing videos are a huge waste of time.  Some of the RC ones start with the brown paper wrapped parcel.

I also dislike amateur videos who have long intros with graphic titles.

Yes, this is EXACTLY my point! Good find. No offense to those making the unboxing videos outside of my/our preference intended....but they are bloody boring!

 

So yes, in this video we get lots of rambling and reading almost everything and takes about 10 minutes until we see it (I'm watching the vid btw!) my point exactly.

Get the thing out the bloody box!!

Yeah I was whirling around a lot, just was very energetic and didn't want to stay still. Bad init!

 

Long intros are bad too, especially with loud music and loco whistles that make you jump and poo yourself if you were just chilling in bed.
