  1. Hornby 2013: trouble for my bank account...

  2. Baseboards for my new layout are ready. It's time to lay some track and complete the control panel.

  3. Had to be in a KLM flight to Birmingham for Warley, but I'm unable to travel due to illness... Better nex year...

  4. Wondering how to use Flickr images...

  5. The imagea are made with SolidWorks for 3D desing. I use this sowfware at work (engineering machinery) so I'm used to handle it.
  6. Space is limited in my hobby room, so I had to make a track plan that would fit in just only 2,8 m by 0,6 m. In my search on the internet to get some inspiration, I found a nice looking layout called Pen-Y-Bont made by Frank Collins (Dukedog here on RMweb). This was what I was looking for: it fits along the wall in my railway room, it has a nice atmosphere, and yet enough opportunities. So, I took the track plan en started drawing my own version. For those of you who know Pen-Y-Bont, you see that I have mirrored the track plan. I did this because on the right hand side I have the possibility to move the fiddleyard into the kitchen when the layout will be operated after a possible future extension. I also lengthened the track plan because the layout will be built on baseboards which have Ikea Ivar book shelves as a base. In the past I had good experiences with these shelves when building my US grain layout, so using these again seems to be a good idea. At this moment I’m working on the details regarding point control etc. When these details have been worked out, construction can begin. Greetings, Jan Derk
