  1. You could take the matter through the small claims court I guess if the seller is going to get arsey about things.

You could also include the auction house that sold it in that claim too potentially.

The Vice City part of the Definitive Collection appears to be unavailable separately via Playstation Store now. The bundle is up for 55 quid though.

    I'm a nope. C6T.

There was a fan made remaster of the 3 games, but 2K/Rockstar got that shutdown... if you look in the right places you can probably find it still and it is reportedly better than the official version, even though they never finished it. Apparantly they're working on a decompilation of it, like people have for Mario 64 and others, which 2k/Rockstar wouldn't be able to shutdown from what I understand.

I just wish Phil would announce the future releases/running numbers so I can plan my 2023 modelling budget

Unfortunately Phil is effectively a one man band (I know he has others who work with him) and he can only manage so much at once really. Also he prefers to announce when things are ready to go.

Until the previously announced items are resolved I don't think we'll have much more about future plans and with the present difficulties in China that may not be this year, unless he feels pressure from elsewhere to get an announcement out.

I was under the impression that Metromodels had moved mostly to 3D printing via firms like Shapeways. So there would be very few moulds to catalogue.

They had a few other items I expect that were not sold any more. Plus the conversion bits.

When I spoke with PPP at gets they mentioned they were evaluating the 3d printed models and that they were unsure if they'd meet their requirements in the current form. Hints were made that as a company they had access to injection moulding and it was one option that could be taken to replace some or all of the range. How true or whether that happens I can't say really.

We'll know more in time I expect as they're also now working on the mailcoach and kirk range from the coopercraft stable, with the coopercraft moulds going to cambrian.

I also made it into sams trains latest video ,i just hope his girlfreind read my reply to my first post about being annoyed about trains running on carpet,i did feal a bit guilty ,i think sam haveing his girl freind on his channel works a treat ,the in your face bit made me laugh it was like a spoof death metal video ,a type of music i am a big fan of ,i do enjoy sams very honest reviews of products something the model railway press has never done ,a subject that sam talked about in his video, whilst on the subject of you tube i am also a fan of Walls rail i find a lot of his projects very inspirational ,

I'd argue that Gareth Bayer and Simon Bendall would give rather honest reviews in Rail Express Modeller, as well as reviews in DEMU's UPDate. They were not afraid of holding the manufacturers to account, compared to the current press, which is perhaps a little bit more to the keeping the advertising dept happy. It is what it is, and these days youtube is probably the best place for more honest reviews, as long as they're clear about being given samples or sponsorship of course (ASA rules state they should have the #ad tag for such posts).

    Hi everyone,

Following on from feedback on the Deltic, we've upped our label game for the Class 92s to aid retailers and pickers in our warehouse, as well as modellers who are storing their models when out of use.

A simple, yet effective thing to have in place.

Looking forward to getting my 92!

  7. Typically the warranty is 12 months from the manufacturer dealt with often by the seller of the product, but it can vary a bit.

The sale of goods act (I think it was superceeded by a newer act), means things have to be fit for purpose, and this usually applies for manufactering defects.

You might also be able to make a claim with your credit card issuer against Very if they're unhelpful.

Bleh. Turned the PS4 on for the first time since 2020 and the rubber on the thumbsticks has turned to marmalade...

Think I'll skip the PS5 and just play HFW on the PS4 (Pro)

They do that sadly. Fairly easy to fix and fairly cheap at least though. You can also get thumbgrips that go on top of the thumb sticks which could be a cheap option.

At 4mm to the foot, I don't think moving shoe gear is required.  The other idea is a flash trackside on the infrastructure, at appropriate points!

The idea of the flash was bounced about with another company a good few years ago, but that Class 92 never made it.......

Next thing you will want electric through the shoe beam, meaning A/S will then incorporate part of the DC Rulebook, or this...... 💥

The moving shoe beam was the jesting bit!

Some years ago, it was possibly in reaction to Bachmann’s moving pantographs, I suggested cooling fans powered by a servo motor and linked to the sound. I wasn’t exactly jesting but didn’t expect it. Bingo! Now Accuraacale is incorporating sensors to limit flange squeal to where there are curves in the track. Who knows what will be next?

DCC uncouplers would be a good thing for manufacturs to crack and start including perhaps? some hurdles in how to have them removable for DC use.

The use of the hall effect sensors though opens a number of possibilities for different uses. I wonder what else manufacters can think of?

At the moment Jon it's based on sell rate of the Deltic and class 37 sets which are very modest. As they are both more numerous in run than the 92 and we’re less likely to make frequent 92 runs we’d likely have a minimum run of 92 wheelsets in stock for a decade :(

we may put up some polls to those who have bought in the coming weeks to test viability.

I can't remember what type the 92s require,  but the branchlines wheels might be a good option if the gears are removable without too much fuss to transfer.

The EU has mandated USB charging compatibility (USBC I believe). I'm not sure when this goes into effect. Doubtless manufacturers will ignore this for non-EU products (even with the extra cost of maintaining EU-specific variants).

2024 for phones etc,  2025 or 2026 I think for laptops.

Most phones and tablets already use USB c connections anyway now. Only apple has been holding out on the iPhone. The good thing is that it will solve the mess of things that require usb but don't use the standard connections as all will have to have usb c, and it will be cheaper to just standardise on that world wide.

I'm not sure who the target audience is for TT. I'd have to sell all my OO stuff to get some - at a loss - to try something new, something i can't really consider .

Not many people have the disposable in come right now to start afresh . And anyway it's not quite small enough for me to fit full length trains on my box room and i'd already ruled out N gauge due lack of sufficient stock

I reckon someone starting a project might give it a thought if they are interested in the initial range of options. Plus someone thinking of a new project when others have been n or oo might give it some thought.

For it to succeed I think the smaller suppliers need to get on board, if theres some kits and other bits available it will make it much easier to justify getting into the scale. Otherwise a lot of scratchbuilding and adapting continental buildings to look british.

Isn't that what they done with EMU's? In fact the Thumpers were developed from an EMU with its on board power supply. There might well have been more if the electrification hadn't gone ahead as it did.

Its possible had the war not happened, the thumpers might not have been needed as the lines for them might well have been electrified before BR came into being (and BR might not have happened as the companies without the war wouldn't have been in a critical state).
