  1. Completely forgot I'd done this glamour shot of the layout as EWS back a class 60 into the fuel depot while Virgins class 220 speeds by with a cross country train
  2. Sorry for lack of updates but not much has happened on the railway front, a now 19 month old who insists bed time is 10pm really isn't helping but we have started rebranding a regional railways Hornby 153 to central trains and updating the warning flashes using Railtecs superb decals
  3. Morning everyone currently looking for information on coach formations that would be used during steam hauled specials on the mainline in the early 00s this stems from the fact I brought a MK1 restaurant coach and was wondering if was any use I've watched many YouTube videos but coaching stock confuses me at the best of times
  4. Kingsbury is steadily coming together told you it was a slow burner 4 boards completed apart from a hidden siding to represent EMR. Another 2 boards to add to the left hand side which one of these has been started then it's a case of seeing if the fiddle yard will be big enough which may intale a 7th board oh this is fun
  5. I'm sorry £75 for a 100t TEA wow even Cavalex and Revolutions TEA's are only at £50ish and there far better models
  6. Bit of a disappointment for us modellers who dabble in early 00s midlands layouts, would have had money of a virgin hst but there's always next year
  7. Have to say they do look nice next to the Cavalex tea just about in the right era for Kingsbury which this layout will eventually become
  8. Got to be express can be debrand into central trains quite easily
  9. Managed to pick up a couple of EWS ones from my local model shop yesterday, first looks seem good nice sturdy box will look nice on my 00's Kingsbury layout so that's 10 cavalex, 2 revolution only another 10 to go for the full rake
  10. Starting to take shape, board 4 up to check position of points, liking the feel of the layout now
  11. You know when your layouts to big when your building it on the drive, ohh well here we go. Boards 4 and 5 as they are at the moment lack of track pins stops play, boards 5 and 6 (still in the shed) have allmost all there track work fitted board 6 is lacking some as I want to use full lengths to go into the curves of the non scenic section. Board 3 is built and marked up that just leaves 2 scenic boards to build and a complete fiddle yard. Yes it's big but has always been designed as a exhibition layout and not a home layout
  12. A big thank you to everyone who attended our exhibition and enjoyed a trip on the bus hears to next year 21st September 2024
  13. Only 1 week to go folks till our best show yet don't forget about our heritage bus
  14. Advertising posters are popping up all round Lichfield have you seen one, why not join us
  15. It's that time of year when the Trent Valley model railway society host there annual exhibition, this is our biggest and best show yet and this year we are running a heritage bus between our venue, Lichfield Trent Valley and Lichfield City train stations check the poster below for times. Let the train take the strain
  16. Thanks for all the information guys, hopefully this version gets released at some point fingers crossed
  17. Cheers for the info for that layouts 1999 to 2003 so may get away with one was it green when dragnet were running it
  18. Don't suppose anyone has any photos of Caroline in the early 00's trying to justify to myself to get one but having a hard time finding what colours she was in and what was her traction in around 2000
  19. A little more work done with the weather being hit and miss it's really slowing progress but as you can see it's getting there, boards 5 and 6 complete in terms of trackwork hopefully it's starting to look like the real thing
  20. Ooh central trains 158 don't mind if I do but the prices are eye watering ouch shame there isn't a retool of the 170 but hey-ho time to disperse of some stock to fund new I suppose
  21. Hi folks as some of you are aware I'm currently building a layout based on Kingsbury Junction shunt frame and was wandering if anybody had any information of what the signalling was like in 2000 in the yard, not fussed with the main line as there is only 1 relevant signal to be and some moddelers licence is being used with this one to move it just onto the scenic boards
  22. Well well well it's been some time since we've been in here, having an 8 month old has really slowed the modifying but we have been upto something and that is modernization on my intercity Mk2s I have started by removing the old warning flashes from either end of the carriages This was followed by debranding them Radical stuff I know now to remove the warning badges I used IPA but that seem to leave some residue but to remove the intercity branding I used airbrush thinner which seems to have worked well anyway not held responsible if you try that folks and It harms your models but worked for me just need to add modern warning flashes and this coach is ready for people and a date with the airbrush
  23. Some cracking shots there mate be really useful for the build it's based in the early 00's but going to have to do the signaling as modern as there's more resources for research
