Evening Jeremy.
Really lovely photos you posted, layout progress is great too!
Have you been on the Cornwall Railway Society recently? The homepage has a great photograph of 37196 Tre, Pol & Pen.
All the best
Jack.

Looking fantastic Jeremy.
I have a link to post here in a sec. Cornwall Railway Society's page, scroll down about half way and there are a few new photos appearing of par from the late 80's.

Just found a brilliant YouTube video. Explains how I want Uckfield to operate perfectly. Starting to like the 70's/80's period a bit more now. Blue thumpers with FYE's

There are a few topics on here. Looks like a good kit. And not bad on price either, KMRC's commission is very nice but already have the 205, so 207 or even a tadpole would be a nice addition to the Uckfield fleet.

Hello Ian & Ian.
It was a long shot to model the 33's on fuel, and would look a little out of place, but none the less, a great photo.
Just some dogfish/grumpas In the sidings for me I think.
Also, didn't realise DC kits did the 207.
Now that I want to model!

Well, im going to get stuck into the layout soon. I have 3 days off work after tomorrow.
Very keen to redesign the baseboards, using the 6mm ply and polyfoam sandwich style. (Used on one of my side projects) then carve the landscape out, which will also enable the brook and shelter 'on stilts' to be modelled.
I'll add loads of pictures of progress.

Started making a mock-up of the station building for Uckfield. Copied from the plans on page 2. The skeleton will be made strong, then layers added later on. I plan to model some of the interior using scalescenes or similar.
The canopy will also be included, even though they didn't survive in the time period intended.

Found more photo's of Uckfield on this webpage.
Which has rekindled my enthusiasm.
Over the next few days, I will start to draw up plans for the station building and goods shed.

Looks as though cab window has an overcast reflection on that western. Amazing stuff here.... I know its repetition of the above posts, but EM gauge 70's website is a true inspiration to many, of course Shenston Road goes without saying, too!

Sounds like you have some good advice and prototype info coming in Jack.
Should be spot on.
Do we now need to call you
Two Layouts Jack of Cornwall?
Sounds a bit like an old Highway Man to me mate. HAHHAH
Andy
Andy it's surprising that memebers have so much info and photos of the prototype, when I started the layout I had no idea I would get this much feedback and info, which is great.

Here are the scans for the Down platform. Again they have been reduced to fit on RMweb. The ones labelled Section refer to the cross sections shown on the Ground Plan. Again apologies some had to be scanned in two parts.

One more for the Down platform. Will get on and do the Up platform.
Peter, thankyou for scanning these in and posting them, they are very detailed and will put me in good stead on building the structures for the layout.
Much appreciated!
Bodgit, thanks is that my new nickname?
People often call me other things like: Deano (a character off irish comedy Mrs.Bworns boys!) Don't ask haha!
Or jackaroo hence the RMweb name Jack00.
Anyway...lots to do on the layout but have to wait until payday as I spent my money in beer yesterday. Oops!
All the best
