  1. Picked up Scotrail Defiant from Model Rail Scotland today thanks to Footplate Models (best value in show) after first checking nameplates etc and got to say am stunned at how good this model is. Just a pity about the problems others are having!
  2. Part 2 is out here in Glasgow now with part of the schoolhouse attached I didn't bother!
  3. It's actually better quality than you might think and for £2.99 it's an absolute bargain!
  4. soz at work at the moment so don't have mag with me but it is from Hachette or whatever way they are spelled and the info I have been imparting is indeed contained in issue 1 which is on sale here in Glasgow at the moment!
  5. There arre two locomotives this time, the 3F Jinty and a G2A D. They are included as part of the subscription if you pay an extra £2 per issue!
  6. Nope looks easy enough to remove and replace though if that's your thing!
  7. Not a great pic but here you go. Nice bit of weight to it and nicely detailed including glazing.
  8. Within issue 1 telling you what's coming in future issues and what you get when you subscribe!
  9. If he's a news agent he should be selling them in his shop at rrp not scalping people online! In my view!
  10. The layout is a northern mill town with a canal. There are several Oxford die cast cars advertised as coming. The layout looks better than the model village one! I would say as inspiration rather than the hundreds to make it with the magazine!
  11. This seller has obviously cleared a shelve or two of them as he has 10 to sell. The Leech!
  12. Why you would want to spend that on it when the shelves are full of them for £2.99 is beyond me!
  13. Hatchett, I think (soz at work at the mo) the same people who did My Model Railway Village
  14. In the newsagent this morning picking up the morning rolls together with a OO LMS brake van for £2.99. It came with one of these partworks called Mill Town. Build your model railway in a 1930's setting. Similar to that one a couple of years ago when we all went crazy for the mark I coach. The van is pretty nice and reasonably detailed and definately worth the cost of the magazine! Get em while they are hot!
  15. Still patently waiting for mine up here in Glasgow, hoping it comes sooner rather than later!
  16. It's that time of year again up here in the Glasgow area!
  17. Morning all from a damp Gkasgow. My second day off out of three and I'm finally beginning to feel normal again! lol! My job for today though is trying to find where rainwater is getting in through the roof. We have noticed a disclolouration on our bedroom ceiling but as yet on checking in the loft I can't find where the rain is getting in. The roof appears bone dry, the layout is dry, anything stored appears to be dry so I'm beginning to think it may be some piping from the old watertank but I need to do a bit of moving stuff to access that area! Wish me luck! Best as always to you all and hooe you have goid days with whatever you are doing!
  18. Jock, thanks so much for your comment, it was nice to know I had been missed! I am really enjoying the new job, it does have long and antisocial hours but the salary and benefits are worth it. I did not think that at my stage in life I would be able to have what is essentially a new career as opposed to just a job and for that I am grateful. Unfortunately I haven't had the opportunity to do any modelling these past months although I have purchased some new stock and some card kits to do once I have the time. Sorry to have read that you have been poorly again recently but as always I am amazed at your tenacity and in always managing to pull through these setbacks. My best as always to you and yours and my hope for continued improvement to your health. I will definately be posting more often so will see you around as the saying goes!
  19. Hello folks, long time no see! Apologies for not being around much but my new railway career really does eat into my life. Having worked for 28 years in my previous job 9 to 5 with every weekend off, shifts and rotas have taken a lot of getting used to. When I'm not working I just seem to be too tired to do very much, however as time has gone on I am getting more used to it and feeling that I am beginning to find my way with the life/work balance. Hope to post a bit more often from now on and hope all are well. Cheers!
  20. In honour of my favourite childhood model locomotive.
  21. Not a great pic but thanks to my phone I caught this double rainbow last week!
  22. Unusual visitor to Glasgow Central! Apologies for the poor quality image, taken on my phone!
