  1. Wrong type of tender, if you look at furness 20s tender it's a completely different design.
  2. When the lms overhauled her the owning group had little money so gave the lms cart blanche to do what they would. Tender is a replica of a furness railway locomotive tender I believe and the rest the works flight of fancy. Il have to dig out my book on lion I think.
  3. Now I have thomas and James I must say that the latter impresses me with its haulage capabilities, now deciding what to buy next....
  4. My local shop, done alot of business there this last year. Top quality service, can't fault them.
  5. 4 metal wheeled Hornby r107s and a brake van and the wheels spin half the time
  6. Bought one from my local dealer, thomas is quaint but doesn't have the haulage qualities of my old Hornby one. It can manage Annie and clarabel around the 2nd radius curves but put any Wagons on and it gives up. Still it'll no doubt entertain the kiddies.
  7. Must admit I've put in an order for a Thomas and acquired a collection of 1980s Hornby troublesome trucks and brake van....I'm sure it'll be nice reliving my childhood and running them on my layout (track plan funnily enough is based on awdrys ffarqhaur....
  8. Now I'm excited, I was aiming at getting a Bachmann 108 but now I want this. Exciting times for dmu fans
  9. I have a disabled person's bus pass, I use the bus every day to go to work in Carlisle. The train times coming back unfortunately don't run late enough for me to get home.
  10. Yes it's still going. But a bus ride to Carlisle to c&m models is easy and presents far better opportunities
  11. There is still a toy shop in Penrith (I live there) but they only sell Hornby and peco, and usually at horrible prices!
  12. O'loughlins I remember, then there was a bike repair shop in Kirkby Stephen sold Hornby stuff but never anything upto date.
  13. There used to be a model shop in kendal I used to visit but they never did anything cheap!
  14. This week I bought a coach from the above mentioned supplier, due to a postal error they delivered to me personally. I cannot hesitate to recommend them enough. Their service, especially considering the current situation, was the best I have received. Full marks for effort.
  15. As I'm not modelling the Lyme regis branch per se, I'm making do with a br grey version of Hornbys lswr brake van. If I had the room though I think I'd model the line but when you only have 6ftx4ft to work with a continuous run with a terminus station based in the middle is plenty to be getting on with!
  16. I'm after a kernow Isle of Wight O2 tank, early crest br version preferred.
  17. I meant the Axminster to Lyme Regis book, from Devon to Dorset the story of the Lyme regis branch I find an excellent book, lots of photos.
  18. It's an interesting book if a little dry. Very few photographs.
  19. Good reading material. I've just bought the Hornby Lyme regis set and another radial for my railway, its not a model of the line itself being generic branchline but it they look good on it even in its unfinished state.
  20. After having had numerous versions of the airfix/Dapol/Hornby 14xx over the years I'm looking forward to this version, at last one without the blooming top feed! Also nice to be able to get a proper 58xx. Photos I've seen so far look encouraging!
  21. You might be able to wait, I can't lol.
  22. A Proper Gwr suburban b set...
  23. I really want one, BUT not at that price! Sticking with the old Airfix/Hornby ones for now!
  24. br standard class 2mt or 3mt 2-6-0
