  1. Ahh right, thanks so much for the photos, is it much of a job to separate the footplate?
  2. I'll have a look at dismantling it this weekend I think. Given it's pretty much flawless cosmetically I'll probably have a go chucking a new motor in if it's irreparable.
  3. The motor was clicking over once in one direction and then dead silent, but I had a bit of a go with the wheel cleaning brush, and now it runs, reluctantly, and noisily in both directions. I'm starting to think it might be some sort of physical resistance, something rubbing where it shouldn't.
  4. Not completely sure if this is the right place to ask, but I recently picked up a second hand older Bachmann 08 from Hattons for a pretty good price, however it just arrived in the post today and only runs, quite noisily, in one direction, and won't budge in the opposite. I'm a bit wary of dismantling it, as my usual subjects are 1980s vintage models, that are a fair chunk less complex and detailed. (though I will once I know what problems I'm looking for) Any ideas what could be causing this?
  5. The false catch is pretty ingenious, I'll definitely give it a go. Thanks for annotating on the actual plan, what kind of signals would they be
  6. I would include a set of traps however I'm quite restricted financially, the distances on the plan are all approximate however the main purpose of the layout is to display a few coaches and maybe shuffle some SPVs round with an 08 and on the the back of a DMU sort of thing. Thanks for the tips TheSignalEngineer, would the ground frame go up near the points off the main line, the siding points or equidistant?
  7. I'm working on a small 40x90cm shelf layout, a bit 1980s WCML-y with a very small, and not particularly prototypical parcels depot inglenook type situation and would like to signal it with proprietary colour light signal kits from the likes of Train Tech and Echon. I've been reading a bit on RMweb but to be honest I'm a little more confused than when I started, so was hoping for a bit of help. I imagine the station continuing on off the right hand end of the layout with staggered platforms, but the two parcels sidings remaining as is. I've attached a basic plan made on anyrail, any help would be appreciated.
