  1. Thanks Rich, I like the stage when you start adding little extras to breathe some life into a scene. Titivating as the wife calls it!
  2. Nice drop of sunshine in Edenvale today, a rare commodity of late.
  3. Greenery has arrived at Edenvale. The cinema poster of "some like it hot" gives a date of 1959 probably the era I always thought this was based. Will put some passenger pictures up later.
  4. Got to love the S and D. Dad took us poking around Highbridge works in the mid to late 60s. So scared we were going to get arrested! I assume you have seen the Betjeman video? I could almost watch it on repeat.
  5. A little more progress on Edenvale, fun and games building the platform to fit but getting there.
  6. Nice idea, perhaps another build as I have just bought some DPM parts that will make another nice low relief factory so can see me heading this way again... I've really enjoyed this build (apart from the platform!).
  7. It will take a pannier or an 08. Think a pannier is more in keeping with the build but if it hung on until the 70s who knows...
  8. Edenbury Town has morphed into Edenvale, home of Dytes Pumps. The chance find of some Skytrex low relief buildings that were purchased many moons ago have become the basis of the engineering works the office coming from a DPM kit bought for fiver at a car boot! As well as a siding fo Dytes there will be some staithes for household coal in the other siding. The footbridge is unashamedly Airfix but then all the scenery items were in stock here and I love a freebie!
  9. I like your 3d effects with the overlays and careful use of the "scenes" on the backscenes. I agree with Andrew above, it is a lovely layout.
  10. Eden Mill Dries are drawing to a close leaving the door open for either the Eden Forest Railway (preserved) or Edenbury Town. Wrapping paper box size
  11. Cracking building, that's got real character. Fell like you want step inside and lose hours flicking through the racks. I claim Hunky Dory, Sgt Pepper (?) And King Crimson. Only know KC as I have been thinking about trying some Fripp.
  12. A few shots of Eden Mill clay works, another wrapping paper special.
  13. Hi PB Shed, it is a 22 litre box designed for wrapping paper. Whitefurze do something slightly bigger and possibly cheaper. The pennies you save on plastic you can spend on more static grass! I have a china clay (wrapping paper size) on the go and been meaning to post some pictures up
  14. Sorry Gary, I've just caught up with the micro thread and cross you've been a victim of a keyboard warrior. It's been a thread I've followed and enjoyed a chat so keep it up. Hopefully Christmas will give you time to put it behind you. I always have big plans for modelling before Christmas and never really happens until the new year. Hope Santa brings something railway related!
  15. Thought these curves were tight but luxury at 64 cm wide and 99 deep. Built for my dad's Hornby caledonian set. Damage due to grandsons and hot wheels cars!
  16. Thanks for the good wishes. Testing negative now but still feeling drained. After seeing a sunshine snap of Brighton some of sunshine at Loch Eden
  17. Funny you posting about sunlit photos and covid, just getting over it now and took some nice shots of a 37 on my layout this morning!
  18. Should have guessed when the coughing started that Mr Covid was calling. Slowed progress somewhat but a start made on greenery and detailing. Half time cup of tea needed now.
  19. Go for it Gary, the only variation i have is to enter the lay out from the other side! I am enjoying these little layouts and really need to finish off the depot before returning to the China clay. Possibly an urban terminus next using a Y point on entry. A mini Merthyr after my previous thread.
  20. Lovely mild, breezy day for ballast drying and pleased with how it turned out. The lamp posts are cut down Ratio street lights with brass tube bases. A cocktail stick in the bottom (oo-er) worked a treat and they are glued in place. Not sure what to do between the tracks and may keep it simple and have a hardstanding.
  21. I think the fencing looks okay, the camera is always cruel but it looks good to me in these pictures. Don't think I have ever found an easy fencing option. I would use the foliage trick as any corner in a scrap yard is likely to be "forgotten". There's always more green in the world than you expect.
  22. Looks like the canopy is a goer and metcalfe benches are a tad fiddly and brought out some strong Anglo Saxon during construction. Track sprayed and ready to lay.
