  1. Porter Street now reassembled for the New Year. Having laid the cork underlay and glued the track on-top ballasting can now begin, as well as cutting the platform sections.
  2. Porter Street Station. Set in 1933 this semi-fictional station (based on Baker Street) is set in 12' x 3'. The photos below show current progress, the rails will now be lifted to allow a cork base to be fitted below. The layout will be framed by Georgian terraces and retaining walls.
  3. With my course in the final week, I've started ordering parts and planning sections for 9E. Plenty of brass has been ordered to complete the main roof of Old & New sheds. Track plans have been laid and the embankment has been cut. Just a matter of time now
  4. Cut out the arr/dep. lines, as seen with 9E resident climbing up towards Clapham on a shunting duty. Thoughts please chaps. Josh
  5. Get a Britannia Models TC, and some Phoenix teak paint.
  6. After a day of singed fingers the first roof support for 9E's Old Shed has emerged, still need the joins and metal work to be cleaned up. Only another 70 odd to go! I think I've made the vent too high though. Just needs a clean up.
  7. With Old & New shed laid out, the next task is the arrival & departure lines respectively. I've started building the embankment which slopes up onto the SW Mainlines. The next task is smoothing it out then coating with apt. materials, after which the trackbed will be fixed onto the top. The shed will be constructed from soldered brass.
  8. Sorry for the constant questions! I have ordered the parts to construct a version of this building, with the tanks on the roof: Any idea what it was, the water supply for the MPD? Josh
  9. Thanks for that! Completly forgot to check the site! I also have found these:
  10. I've planned out the MPD, Stoneworks and Wadhurst Road. Plans are in place for designing the houses (with Kingsway kits) and the Water tower/goods shed is under construction. So the next main task is the coaling stage and main sheds. Does anyone have plans or a good photo for the metal work along the side of the main coaling stage? Josh
  11. Thanks chaps, especially for the photos! The turntable will form the front of the layout so I probably will not include them, though I might make them as a background for photos. I have found this perfect angle of the coaler: https://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/5857145827. In order to create this I will probably a cut in the board, as it is raised, for the line to fit. Josh
  12. That exactly why I used it as proof from the old one. When printing, zooming etc the true scale can be lost. In this instance it is 1.095x smaller than the original.
  13. Thanks chaps. I've started the blog for 70A now. Will post some layout photos tomorrow. Josh
