***Disclaimer - i wanted a cheap as chips project for a relatively nice finshed coach - these are not 100% accurate and are more 'testbeds'

Hornby teaks from start to finish.

    • Citadel wash to all wood finsish (x3)
    • Roof resprayed in satin white.
    • Chassis and bogies given a dirty matt black paint.
    • Hornby 14mm wheels replacing the chunky wheels.

Hornby 4 Wheel coach from start to finish:

    • Roof repainted
    • Chassis given a dirty matt black paint.
    • Hornby 14mm wheels replacing the chunky wheels.
    • Body given a light rub down, coat of ammo mig dark brown followed by a light buff. and then once dry wash applied.

Both projects when finished given a once over (Wood finish) with a stiff bristle hair brush to leave a patina.

  2. A thread for my small but hopefully mighty DCC Self contained layout.

Built on two wooden storage ornamental boxes as baseboards- glued together.

Backscene made from palsticard airbrushed a sky colour. Low Relief scene to fill most of the blue WIP.

A weathered battered old transit from  Bunters Yard over on Instagram.

Various scrap wagons feature - suitable weathered.

Runs using dcc and a dynamis ,

Current fleet for the layout includes : A sentinel (away for weathering) , An 03 and and 04, and and 08

There is also a scrap handler machine on the workbench from a modified atlas long reach digger. Will add once photographed.

    Any comments ideas suggestions welcome.

    Thanks

    Ollie

Thank you. The underframe is ex Hornby TTA with the addition of styrene parts in place of the chopped off Hornby ones. Is it these you'd like to see or the actual chassis from underneath? More than happy to get some for you.

    Hello-

Thank you for your prompt reply.could I see the chasis with your added under frame detail?  I have plenty of Hornby TTA chasis kicking around and this looks like an ideal use for them!
