  1. As i couldn't find a way to do it in previous suggestions on the original post i did exactly that. carefully Prized the PCB undone and covered the F connector on the rear end with a small bit of tape. Job done. :-) Thanks and here is how i setup the Lokpilot4 decoder. (F4 is all of my cab lights throughout my collection)
  2. Hi All, has anyone worked out how to have the rear red lights working independently? they are on Aux2 but need to have the front lights on for the back red lights to work. Obviously, if a 37 is dragging Caroline you want the rear red lights on but not the front white lights facing the loco. I am using a Lokpilot 4 and have a lokprogrammer if that helps. Thanks Nick
  3. Hi All, one of my Mk1coach end wires has gone AWOL. (The ones that come down from the roof). Does anyone know where to get sturdy replacement wire I can bend into shape. And what’s the thickness as I have no way of measuring it. Thanks Nick
  4. Hi all, does anyone know the best Matt paint for the railway workers orange jackets back in the 80s?
  5. Anyone know the 1980s (82-84 Scotland) depot Speed limits? If different also leaving the depot and coming into depot sidings? Thanks in advance Nick
  6. I am nearly complete with my end to end 1982-84 diesel depot. :-) I have an idea of where to put my ground signals but want some other views.. (I actually have 9 ground signals at my disposal) I want to put them on exiting the Depot onto the main line (In my case thats the fiddle yard). I have marked the points where i want to place them in red. BTW. the yellow things represent a fuelling point. Does anyone have any other ideas of signal placement and if so why? Thanks in advance.
  7. Thanks for all the help guys.. I think it will be Railway Modeller
  8. If you had a new layout and you wanted it in a magazine which would you choose? Hornby or Railway Modeller?? I have both opportunities by the way ..
  9. I totally agree.. I found it let too much ballast onto the track. i Actually ended up using a mini funnel to distribute the ballast in the end. And then brushing into place. Would i buy a Spreader again... NO !
  10. This remote seems to have gone under the radar here in the UK. The "Lodi-con". https://www.dcctrainautomation.co.uk/lodi-con-a.html My friend bought one for his 15 Meter long German Marklin layout. He has a CS3 controller. I have to say it is good !! They are working on Fixes every week and we have suggested fixes that Andreas (Company owner) in Germany has addressed. Latest builds https://www.lodi-forum.de/f50308-LoDi-Con.html Not much else to say really as he has only had it a couple of weeks, but so far so good.. There are also some videos on youtube.
  11. LegoManbiffo. !! And here is a video for upgrading the speaker..
  12. I agree... Your track is the foundation for your layout.. if you need to get one with right its the track
  13. I have replaced the decoder for a Lokpilot and hopefully it wont blow but if it does not as expensive as a sound decoder. It will just have to be a none sound loco..
  14. Before ballasting and mine are under the sleepers and work fine. (I cut out a small section of the cork underlay to add them).
  15. It would be great if someone could help me here. I found this but not sure if its detailed enough???? https://www.heathcote-electronics.co.uk/signalling.html

  17. Hi Guys, 2 days ago a bought a ESU signal pilot. Great !! But noticed within the Lokprogrammer from ESU they only have French/German/Swiss and Austrian signals that could be programmed into the Signal pilot. So I wrote to ESU asking if they can add British signals and they replied asking for British configurations so they can add them to their next Lokprogrammer update. Cool !! Now all I need now is a Pdf or webpage with all British signal configs easy to understand (I guess they just need the different signal configs and not the explanation- less is more as they say) . I understand that there might be 100s or these so maybe sort of generic list is required. Can anyone help? Just for a visual here is how the Lokprogrammer looks for the Signal Programmer setup (Left hand side). So that's the sort of thing they need. "Forget those annoying red circles.." (Yes i nicked the photo from elsewhere ;-) Thanks in advance
  18. I have a Heljan 00 Western that has now blown 3 ESU sound decoders. Anyone else encountered this? Clearly i need to bin the thing and keep the body.. Or change the circuit board?
