  1. I wonder how many microbreweries will survive CV19? Or even my local! I’m going to get beers in to try and keep them running.
  2. Good venue, layouts, friends, etc; and the bonus of picking up a couple of GWR locos! Then followed by a visit to GWS Didcot, and a long chat to John Barlow, one of the founder members. Really enjoyed the day!

    Little Muddle

Keep the tree as it is, but get a short-sleeved jumper or tanktop. You know it makes sense!
  4. And another bump! Shall be coming down from Yorkshire on way to Hants. Inveigled my schooldays‘ trainspotting chum to come down from Northants. Who knows , might convert him to EM?!
  5. Doesn’t stop Farrell either!
  6. Kirkstall 3 Swords, Proper Job and Sam Smith’s IPA. But before you think I’m going too far, this is spread over three evenings!
  7. Sad to see that Lcut have been hit by storm Dennis, both house and business. I’m sure we all wish them well at this time, and that they get back on their feet without too much hardship. All the best.
  8. Unfortunately, Johnster, that’s next up. I reckon we’ll come fourth- which I thought at the beginning of the 6N- so we may as well start bringing in new blood, even at the expense of tried and tested old-timers. When we were on top, Our decision making was crap, and could have meant winning the match if it were better. Hey ho, I liked the look of France. Dai
  9. The Goldfinches have come down from the moors, and are splitting into pairs. But they are still not touching the Niger seed I bought specifically for them! Hey ho.
  10. Hi, I hope your pub has not been affected by the floods? My commiserations if so. all the best, Dai Davies
  11. As his operating sidekick on Amwag, I can let you know that Ben’s knowledge of British geography is pathetic. Each show I go to the location differs: Goole, Barnsley, Wakefield, Pontefract. My theory is that the layout is based on the colliery location of his last wagon bought, but he can hardly ever show you where it is on a map. Hey ho, it is great fun to operate and does show what O gauge can achieve in 8’. What I like about the show is that north meets south here. Layouts rarely seen in the north make an appearance, my favourite being Bournemouth West.
  12. I think you’re probably right on the attention span, after all it is meant to attract people to do it.
  13. I do the RSPB birdwatcher hour, but am not a fan of the format. I reckon it would be more ‘scientific’ to record the highest number of any species seen at any one time during the course of the day. This will help reduce variation in wrong hour, bad weather, seeing the same bird twice in your hour, etc. What do you reckon?
  14. Didn’t know that about M J. I thought Dylan H was a very good pundit on the Beeb over the weekend, though didn’t particularly like him as a player.
  15. True, but generally they import them at such a young age that they grow up in the NZ system.
  16. I think Eddie Jones’s team selection played a big part in this loss. He continues with some players way past their best, out of position, and not in form. Not that I’m grumbling from a Welsh point of view, but it does seem weird that he doesn’t choose some obvious candidates from the huge pool available to England. Obviously, I wouldn’t divulge any names until after our game with the Saes — I want to win!
  17. Quite right. The PSA test is not an alternative to the finger test, and is not always accurate. I went to the docs because I had trouble peeing, and. I had a plain, old , common or garden enlarged prostate. They did a PSA test which was slightly too high, but also did the finger test whilst they were investigating the enlarged prostate. Sent for biopsy, then MRI scan, then ‘modelling’ of the cancer spread, then had the prostate out before the cancer could spread - it was due to erupt. Incredibly good, or lucky, timing on my part! but Melmerby is right, get yourself checked. If you have a problem with the waterworks, go to the doctor: it may be an infection, enlarged prostate, or cancer. It makes sense to find out which and get it sorted.
  18. You should worry more when you can’t pee! Remember also that a lot of blokes have an enlarged prostate, not necessarily carcinogenic, which prevents peeing when you want to!
  19. Gosh, they look good! How long does it take for a coach to print?
  20. Nuthatch coming down and treecreeper going up, but they didn’t bash into each other!
  21. Hi, all the best with your project. Will it be DC or DCC? If the former, Will you be putting in isolation sections in each siding?
  22. I see that this has been answered, but for future reference there is website BRDatabase that I find really good for these queries. Cheers.
  23. Last night in the Flying Horse in Rochdale: Sybilla from Pictish brewery. Not socialising tonight, so a bottle of Butty Bach, Welsh name but from Herefordshire!
  24. Gosh, Johnster, you make the suburbs of Cardiff sound like Mountain Ash! Have you been on a creative writing course recently! (Insert smiley) Dai
