  14. The early 1980's saw me start secondary school and with quite a few of us spotters starting there, a railway club started up. A Summer Sunday saw the railway club travel, by train, to the West Somerset Railway. Shortly after departing Trowbridge, we went straight on at Bradford Jn and headed towards Melksham and Chippenham. This was before the re-opening of Melksham station and started us wondering how far this diversion was going to send us. Not very far, as it turned out, for our 3 car DMU changed direction at Thingley Jn and headed off down the main line towards Box Tunnel and Bath. These are my 126 instamatic shots from that day. First, the former Admiralty stores at Melksham. Closely followed by the rear of Leekes superstore! Approaching Box Tunnel - didnt you just love the view from behind the driver on a DMU?
