I am looking for help choosing my first laser cutter. I want to cut out many cross tie bases in a ladder shape for North American N scale. I can also use it for RC aero modelling parts and structures. What should I be looking for, do I need to mod anything?

I got a nice used Bachmann spectrum N scale 2-8-0 consolidation, that runs fine in reverse, but in forwards, the wheels stop rotating at each quarter turn. At higher speeds its not so noticable, but still a bit lumpy running. Clean and lube, or something else? I want to know before I tackle an auction item that is returnable.

I'm a new JMRI user and whatever settings I try, I am getting loco not found, error 301 when I try to detect decoder. Hardware is Merg CANUSB to CANCMD. Loco lights come on when placed on track. What to do? MERG server appears to be down

If I actually have a copy of the yearbook, it must be lost with all the other important things. I not even sure what it looked like. Are there any drawings of gauges I could take to a machinist?

Does any one know where to get brass roller gauges (and the other kinds) for building FS 160 track? I am planning on using association code 40 FB for North American, but also fancy using code 55 FB for mainline bits. If I can find the rail at a reasonable price.
