  1. I'm not a gamer, but this article may be useful to you.... https://itsfoss.com/linux-gaming-guide/ Richard D
  2. I converted all of our windows computers to Linux Mint over 18 months ago and would never go back. The machines (Dell and HP) run much faster, the operating system is totally stable, it doesn't spy on you or force unwanted updates, and it's FREE!!!. Richard D
  3. I've installed Linux Mint on quite a few older Dell Optiplex computers and it works really well. Very fast, and much easier to manage than windows. So far, I've tried Optiplex, 745, 780, 7010 and 7040 machines, I'm using the latter one for daily use. Linux seems to be far more stable than Windows, you don't need a anti-virus software and it doesn't spy on your activity. Linux is FREE and easy to install, it's certainly worth looking at, especially as Microsoft will soon be forcing users to migrate onto windows 11.
  4. Hi Brit15 You don't need a smart meter to export energy to the grid. We have been exporting and receiving our FIT payments for 10 years, firstly with and old mechanical meter (which ran backwards and was soon replaced) and laterly with a standard electronic meter. Richard D

    Norman Hughes

So very sad to hear of the passing of Norman. We met him many times during our time on the Exhibition circuit, as exhibitors at the Normanton & Pontefract show, as fellow exhibitors at shows all over the country and when he brought his layout to Retford MRE. He was always happy, friendly and a joy to be around. We’re sure many fellow exhibitors will fondly remember the ‘Norm Awards’ which were held as part of the Saturday social evening at the Normanton show. Norman was always on fine form, entertaining the crowd with funny stories and novelty prizes for various unsuspecting club members and visitors. The model railway world has lost a great force for good and we would like to pass on our sincere condolences to his family, friends and members of NPRMS. Richard and Christine Deas (Littleborough and Littlewood)
  6. Maybe they should change the RB advertising strapline to: Red Bull Makes You WINGE Richard
