Hammers to break windows were behind pull-off covers in each coach - no 'special' escape windows like some modern trains have.

The first of those pictures is of the interior of a TU dining car - so yes it had 2+1 seating. The second is of a Trailer Brake First again 2+1 seating. Second class vehicles were 2+2. Rob
