  1. All swapped and all is well with the replacement. Top service from the retailer, The Deltic Preservation Society who brought the replacement to my door.
  2. The retailers are doing a swap. :-) Thanks for the advice.
  3. After about 15 minutes it is now screeching away, in both directions, and not just on the slopes.....worrying.
  4. It had been running maybe 45 minutes when it started, and reversing it dosen't seem to cure it. It's always on a downwards gradient. It's running again now and it seems fine, I'll just see how it goes. If it continues I'll have to contact the seller. Fingers crossed it will be ok.
  5. I was in the process of running it in when it developed the screech. I oiled it as per the instructions and let it run again. It has improved but occasionally it starts again, always on the same bit of track. I'll keep on with it and see what happens. I have 4 Bachmann 37's and this one is the only one I have had this issue with. Thanks for your comments.
  6. I have just bought the new Class 37 Colas version. It seems to run fine but when going down gradients it screeches and squeels. I have oiled the parts indicated on the sheet provided but makes no difference. On the flat or up hill gradients it is absolutely fine. Thanks in advance.
  7. It's a bit of a ballache but thankfully it remembered my Propack and track plans. I only had to re enter the loco ID's again. It still dosen't like certain decoders but on the whole it's now fine.
  8. I have reinstalled Railmaster and it seems to be working fine for the moment. It must have become corrupted in some way.
  9. Ahhh...thanks . I wasn't aware of that. I'll check it out. I have never used the Elite for programming, just controlling the loco's. I have always used Railmaster.
  10. I have issues with Railmaster recognising the loco decoders mainly. Most are reading as UNOBTAINABLE which makes it difficult to change CV's and loco ID numbers. Nearly every loco I put on the programming track has problems with this or repeatedly attempting to get the CV values. It is taking hours to get them sorted. All because I am trying to sort out my loco list as I have changed a few old ones for new. There are other minor issues but nothing I can't handle. I am also a bit fed up with the Windows 98 style graphics but that is just my own preference.
  11. As my thread title says, I am losing it with Railmaster. Various issues after a decent length of time without any but I feel I need to move on to a better, more adaptable and reliable software. Firstly I am using an Elite, and not everyones cup of tea, but I like it and I am happy with it. Whatever software I choose, it needs to be able to run with the Elite as I cannot afford a new controller at this point. Any suggestions? nothing too complicated, just reliable. Cheers folks
  12. Thanks for that. I paid £50 for Warwick and Belvoir. Both are like new and I'm happy enough with them but might not have got the bargain I thought I had.
  13. Ahhh, I'm so glad I found this topic. I bought the Bachmann Solway Princess last weekend and have been scouring Ebay for a few days to get hold of the rolling stock. Looking at this, I think I have been hoodwinked. I seem to have got the older versions (Warwick and Belvoir) in new Hornby boxes!! The one that arrived containing Warwick was marked up as Harlech. I contacted the seller before he sent them and he said it was his mistake and it was Warwick that I would be getting, not Harlech. Fine by me I thought. When it came I expected the box would be changed for the Warwick one but it wasnt. What I really could do with knowing is, is it worth arguing the toss or is there no real difference in the new and older coaches? I need to get a third, was looking at Chatsworth but might have to settle for Glamis if it is a better match. Minor details I know, not like me really, I just don't want to waste money. Cheers
