  1. I'll come out of what seems will be a permanent log-out due to her Ladyship's deterioration, in order to comment on this excellent model. Given the easy availability of white-metal signal-box interiors, very, very few people will do as you have done. This is real craftsmanship that bodes very well for the future. A council of perfection, but - if anyone says otherwise - it is likely that LNER instructions for painting might have been vague, initially. That, and the use of a local painter might well have resulted in those very nice green windows rather than the cream which became the rule, with green doors, and trim. It's a good talking point anyway. Otherwise, my only mega-picky point would be that painting the block-instruments brown and cutting out tiny pieces of paper or the faces might be worthwhile. And keep an eye out or something "domed" that can be chopped of to make tiny brass bells for the necessary instruments. (You've just replied on this point!) Excellent work! I had intended to ration my browsing for modelling purposes, but circumstances have caught up with me. I'll pop in if I can, albeit very rarely - so don't hold your breath! In any event you have plenty of enthusiastic followers. Tony
  2. YAHOO DUMPED ALL MY RECENT E-MAILS - as if I wasn't climbing the wall already!!!

Not sending my emails to my Thunderbird program either tonight - grr...

You dumped them on purpose? As in junk mail? But then you say as if you weren't climbing the wall already....did you dump them by accident?

Ah...no I got it....Yahoo the provider dumped them for you.......oh bummer.....send a round robin to those who might have sent you something and point it out.....of course YOU have to do this to cover Yahoo's mistake.

      Does she have good days?

Jaz: She has days in which she is better in spirit, although not so physically. Although (danger of too much info!)she is pleased with herself if she seems to have some control of her basic functions. Keeping her cheerful is my job. But I feel guilty when I fail, which is irrational, I know... I'm keeping logged out or fear of an inappropriate Mega Whinge, which I know would be OK with you guys, but I always feel crap afterwards. Anyway, thanks for caring. If I can get some modelling...

(must have used too many letters) - modelling done, I'll be fine. :) X

  5. Reorganisation of available Time, requires that Time is available... Obvious? It's taken me a heck o a long time to realise the obvious.

  6. The distance and light through the entrance/exit is positively uncanny. Somewhere, in a US mag, I've pictures of multi-story buildings with illuminated slides used for interior shots with a similarly surreal effect. I think the latter was 7mm, though. (attic full of stacked mags, disorganised by periodic plunder )
  7. I was blown away the first time I saw how you've made use of photography for the station buildings, etc. That contemporary modelling allows such magic is a strong pull in that direction. Those of us who are stuck in the steam-era just have to manage as best we can. Wonderful work!
  8. For those of us who are addicted: "When's me next fix!"
  9. Jaz: Some green slime would do it. A bit dried-up at max water-level, glossy where it meets the water. Unusually, it would need to be a straight line - easy on such a wall.
  10. Thanks, David - it did! It also reminded me to follow the Topic.
  11. DT: You must hold the RMweb record for the amount of pretty blue code that is displayed on every e-mail notification. *perpetually gob-smacked emoticon* PS: This is not a criticism, you understand, more like envy. edit PPS: And yes, I understand it's not code as such, Kal) Better put one of these in (thoroughly pissed off this morning)
  12. I love Google images! - (But b###er all else about Google )
  13. Without rules there'd be no rulers! - immeasurable joy!
  14. The anchorite, Julian of Norwich (a chick btw) became famous for calling God, Mother, rather than, Father. Sooooooooo, if the glove fits...
  15. Oddly enough, I was searching for it with Sasquatch in mind, but saw Chris had posted it. Like you, Kal, I'd forgotten where I'd seen it. Otherwise, signalling must be the most complex of subjects, not necessarily because of the system's complications, but because of the modifications made by different companies at different times. I've lost count of the critical remarks which sound more like a put-down than a constructive help. Having said which, I've also seen a great many where the constructive helper is almost nervous of raising an important point. Signals are one aspect of the hobby/obsession which brings out the best and worst IMnotsoHO.
  16. My ego's so big that the very idea of making mistakes online is hard to stomach. So there's something else I need to learn from you... In fact, the lessons learned from someone else's mistakes are of special value. Time, materials, frustration - all are saved by proxy.
  17. Jaz: I find liquid masks good for "organic" subjects - rust, etc., - but slivers of (Tamiya) tape better for straight lines. (Pics - one day! New camera softwear is... lengthy, detailed, and plain mind-numbing - for a technophobe!)
  18. Jaz: Could be useful set, depending upon the era. Regarding the curvature, I can only think it is to standardise on packaging?
  19. I take Horsetan's point, but very impressive nevertheless! That's a ###### small item to make work from scratch!
  20. Careful guys! Danger of Quantum Entanglement... You realise, if you walk into a wall for several billion years the QP laws of likelihood determine you will walk through that wall. So, never give up. *bull-ox emoticon"
  21. I's all good - but the stonework is particularly so. No matter how effective, many examples of stonework seem painted - but yours has the granular, abrasive look of miniaturised stone.
  22. Excellent news! I'm painting Hornby Skaledale tces, supposedly as place-keepers, but the brick texture is so variable and poor in places that painting the bricks is very challenging. At least it's good practice for painting scratch stuff made from Wills which has a much better mortar definition. One thing: they look nothing like the Hornby originals - now they're well decayed!
  23. I haven't a smart phone, just a talk/text dumb phone, but I am impressed by their capabilities, especially photography. My daughter copied a painting of mine, a water-colour, mounted, framed and glazed, to post on Facebook, and it's not too bad.
  24. This sounds really dumb. But the name of Oregon stimulates so much in an Englishman's mind that your trauma sounds like a drama to be envied - that and your house and grounds. Easy for me to say, I know. But there is so much in the UK I'm fed-up with. People live on flood-plains, are flooded - and blame the government. A nice mansion with a lawn going down to your boat on the Thames and you want it all sorted out for you. I blame gov. for a lot as you know, but if you want a waterside view, spend a bit of the millions it cost you to get involved with your neighbours and prepare for the worst... Give your lass a V-day hug from me, Tony.
