  1. Hi all, Just received my BR Blue 842 Warship which is now sitting next to my Dapol weathered BR Blue Western and I have to say I find it sadly lacking in comparison. Level of refinement and detail pack doesn't seem to be on a par with the Dapol class 52. No etched plates The BR arrows are too thick Most of the detail pack parts seem too thick Essentially I'm an n gauge man but have a few OO gauge models for a diorama. Why do Bachmann use those horrible couplings? Looking for advice/ideas to upgrade it and hopefully make me feel pleased with my purchase Thanks, colbard
  2. P Never done any weathering - eventhough I work in the commercial graphics industry ! Still in awe of people like Ian from Mercig and Chris from CJM. (both only do n gauge I believe). Look forward to seeing you at Toddington next year I hope. best colbard ps I like this level of detail
  3. Thanks Phil - missed your layout at Toddington back in July best colbard

    Dapol 'Western'

For me they are works of art - having them run, light up , make sounds is a bonus. My girlfriend is an art collector - she acknowledges them as being such. best colbard

    Dapol 'Western'

Hi all, Received my D1068 from Kernow today - fantastic level of detail. Would like to add dcc and sound chip to it - deep waters for me don't own any dcc system at the mo - advice/recommendations gratefully received. best colbard
  7. Apparently Rails of Sheffield have them i.e. the green and br blue versions no mention of the weathered one. best colbard
