Ross, the CSCot set excellent, and vast improvement on the old cast whitemetal for streamliner from Langley, which has been around since last century.
My next question, how can I get a hold of one these magnificent Cscot sets, pretty please?

While I know 8F's were allocated to Bath in the early 1960's, I've read some 8F's were trialed on the S&DJR prior to WW2 and that some were briefly allocated to Bath shed during 1940-41. Would anybody here know what numbered loco's they were?

And this is what I like/love about this forum. I've just about finished my 3D printed S+DJR cattle wagons and now need numbers for them. As much as I would like to purchase The Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway Locomotive and Rolling Stock Registers 1886 – 1930, and its only 8 pounds, the postage to downunder of 21 pounds is the killer! Just as I was about to the ask a question on numbers, it magically appears here. Thank-you Stephen, much appreciated.

Sturminster has journeyed 165km to the West to exhibit at the Toowoomba Model Train show. A good weekend away was had with very few mishaps. It has been 6 years between exhibitions and certainly showed a jobs that need to be updated/completed.

Yes, the the ballast brakes are on 3D printed chassis, but I've used drop-in W irons from the 2mmFS
For the mail van I'm using the 6 wheel MR brake van chassis, again from the 2mmFS

As already indicated by @Sithlord75, we had my layout, Sturminster Newton, make a slight journey (37km) over the weekend to meet-up with its cousin, Grassington-Thresfield. This was in preparation for a longer journey, 139km, at the start of next month for the Toowoomba Model Train Show. The layout is now having a service and check-up by the senior foreman. This was also our monthly LAG meeting and time for a bit of show and tell.
My first entry is a SDJR ballast train. It will comprise two 10T ballast brake van and six 8T plank open wagons. I'm still on deciding on the loco, either a Jinty (Bagnal) or a 2F 0-6-0.
While I'm happy with the brake van body, the chassis height still needs some tweaking
Next, a recent delivery from Shapeways, taking advantage of the recent free postage offer. A a LMS non-corridor rake, comprising a a Fowler 2-6-4T and D1737, 1736, 1685, 1686 + 1761 coaches. These are available from recreation21, @rue_d_etropal. They are great prints.
The loco requires a Fairburn chassis, which I still need to acquire.
The coaches don't come with chassis, but I've drawn and printed a test sample, which appears to do the job. I've now accepted the challenge from @Sithlord75 and will draw the sitting compartments, but not sure about printing the passengers!
Next is my livestock train. From front to rear, SDJR long horsebox, SDJR Special cattle wagon, SDJR short horsebox, SDJR cattle wagon, LMS Prized cattle wagon and then a MR brake. Loco will most like be a 3F 0-6-0.
For a bit of local flavour, a Victorian Railways (VR) T class, low nose and a Z guard, from VR N scale, VR N scale facebook. The loco requires a chassis , either a Bachmann S4 of Kato NW2, I have both but need to figure which one works best. for wagons, I have the possibility of some ALX bogie car carriers and other heavy flat wagons for a military load.
There is also some thought in recreating this

An update to the other downunder 3D printworks.
Presently I've 6 wagons nearing completion. On the left left-hand side are a LMS Prized Cattle Wagon (PCW) and a LMS Meat Van. These have been both been drawn to N gauge (1:148). The PCW (page 98, Tatlow, for those playing at home) is designed to plonk straight onto a Farish 11' cattle wagon chassis. It needs a dose of crimson, once I can find some. The meat van was drawn while I was away playing war games late last year, so unfortunately my reference chassis at the time was a Peco 9' WB . http://Sithlord75 will doubt have a play with these and shrink to 2mm.
In the center are S&DJR Horseboxes (short and long) , which are on request from queensquare (yes, they are 2mm) . The short will sit on a 8'6" chassis and the long on a 11' chassis. We ordered some last night, so once they arrive this can progress. Decals will be the next challenge.
On the right/below are a S&DJR 8/10T large cattle wagon and a 10T Special Cattle Wagon. My layout, Sturminster Newton, is a market town, and at one stage had the biggest livestock market in the UK. Any variety of livestock wagon may have turned up there at some time, and hence I intend to have as much variety as possible. http://Sithlord75 is of the opinion that I will eventually 3D print all of Tatlow, he maybe right! The cattle wagon was started about 2 weeks ago and has progress pretty well. Last week I lucky to be given access to a copy of Southern Wagons Pictorial, which had a nice chapter on S&DJR wagons, and lucky me, I found the diagrams for the the SCW, of which there were only two of. It just required some modifications to the existing cattle wagon drawing. Both of these will run on 2mm 11' chassis's, which are on order.
And before anyone asks, no, I'm still not a 2mmFs member.

A little bit of an update. Recently a member of this parish show us on the Zoom group his horse box train, and hinted that he would like to add some S&DJR horseboxes. Challenge accepted.
This is the second draft/print of the short wheelbase, S&DJR 8'6" horse box. I had 2 reference photos, of No1 and No10, and there are differences between both. So once I've ironed out the problems with No1, I'll then move onto No10. It also the first time I've dived in the deep-end and added the torpedo vents as apart of the print
Next I will then try the longer variant, with a 11" wheelbase.
Other works in progress are the LMS Prized Cattle Van. This is getting closer to completion, just needing to add the torpedo vents

Second draft (ver 2B). This has seen some refinement to the verandah, adding a name board, a a stove in the interior and some thought towards a lever-frame and other furniture. I've also drawn the vestibule and steps as separate items, so that I can have easier access to paint.
All three parts. Still need a window on the vestibule side wall and and also add balustrade on the end of the verandah.
All assembled. Even with the phone camera, all the blemish's show out. The angle brackets under the verandah will need some thickening. Am quite happy with how the sign turnout. I've quickly painted it to see it turned out.
Here we have the original scratchbuilt (circa 2013), first 3D print and then the second. Still some more refinement to go. I think I will stick with roof I have, it works, or until such time as when I figure out how to do it. In the background is version 2a, which didn't print properly.

Yes there is a slight bow, but it is only the first print, still some more tweaking. Next print hopefully with have nameboard attached. Should also being doing the vestibule and steps.

Back when i started this , there was no guarantee as to how often I would make updates. I think 5 1/2 years is a big enough gap.
I could go on about the various house moves (over 3000km traveled), but I wont'!
2020 saw me introduced to 3D printing. While I don't actually own one, I have weekly access to one, if required, and I provide some resin. After some trial and effort with various CAd programs, I've managed to print some wagons, which I think are good enough to run. More about these latter.
During a recent layout clean-up, I removed the Sturminster signal box, and in doing so I noticed that glazing had deteriorate(cracked) since it was first built, wayback in 2013. This then gave me and idea to see if I could print it, with a bit more accuracy. While my first attempt achieved its task, it was never very accurate:
- incorrect sized wood panels
- incorrect windows
- incorrect roof material

Here is the comparison between the first scratch-built attempt and the first 3d print. The windows and panel size are an obvious standout
The roof is the existing one for the first attempt. I'm still deliberating as to whether I re-use this, or try to print a more authentic one. i'm still working on the stairs and vestibule.

Is there any progress on this project? I've started drawing the Sturminster signal box to print in 3D, to replace my scratch-built attempt from 10 yrs ago.

Next in the progression of 3D printing was to to draw up a replacement chassis for the whitemetal Cowans 15T crane. The back story behind this is long, I started building this back in 2007 when I was deployed in Iraq. One ev evening during an insurgent rocket attack, I went diving, from the desk I was sitting at, for the floor while trying to fasten my helmet and body armour. In the process I knocked my modeling mat on the floor, sending bits everywhere. It sat in the UFO pile for a while, but now its time to get it finished.

Always on the lookout for some variety, I thought I would try to draw a LMS D1819 Calf Van. Drawing was done using Fusion 360 and printed on an Anycubic resin printer. It has been tweaked several times to where it is is at now. For the chassis, I'm presently using a Farish 11' Cattle wagon chassis. Now I need to come up with some "Calf Van" decals.
