What to ? Ethel 2 & 3 had a different paint scheme to Ethel 1 .......

So bit the bullet and bought a Heljan 97250 ETHEL 1 from Kernow - turned up today, good looking model - sadly it will have to go back for an exchange as the head code glazing was missing ....... not the best QC and shouldn't have to do it for a new model ....... hey ho.....

A little bit of painting today on the fictional Deltic Style Class 66, Europhoenix Class 60, a pair of BR Blue Class 81s, Freightliner Orange Class 68 and finally an N Gauge Class 68 in 1980s ScotRail Livery. Also an O Gauge Class 33 which has had the roof repainted grey and renumbered to 33025 Sultan .....

A day on the transfers today has seen this lot done ..... 47470 in revised BR Blue Livery, Rebranded EMR HSTs, 47760 in EWS Livery and finally for today, 47017 in BR Blue with a Red Haymarket Castle Logo ...

Progress on a few different shapes and sizes today ... starting with 33025 in O Gauge .... this has had the roof repainted and the grilles picked out in black, Two Tone Green Class 47 and BR Green Class 31, a couple of fictional ones .... Deltic Style Green Class 66 and a pair of COLAS Class 68s, an EWS Class 31 and finally for today ... a N Gauge Class 68 in 1980s ScotRail Livery

A bit of blue for you all today ... and a bit of large logo ... 47323, 217 & 284 in BR Blue with Tinsley Unofficial Names, 47604 in Large Logo with curly numbers and highland rail stag logo. 47323 & 604 are for sale - PM me if interested.

A couple of ROG Class 57/3s being completed today. These are done using Vinyls from Precision Decals.

Take it you've never been to the Warley Show at the NEC ....... go there and then lets revisit the comment ..... its well known and discussed for being a haven for the great unwashed as they are 'affectionately' known ....... but if it offends you then I apologise - just trying to lighten the mood mate.

They should make masks compulsory at exhibitions even if there wasn't a pandemic on ...... cuts out the smell of Body Odour which seems to waft around most of these exhibitions ........

Busy day on transfers today ..... 90041 in Freightliner Green Livery, 47843 in InterCity Swallow Livery, 66100 in DB Cargo, 47541 in InterCity ScotRail, 47550 in Large Logo Livery, 60039 in BR Blue Livery, 47546 & 47604 in Large Logo Livery and finally 47812, 57305 & 57312 in ROG Livery

Another week and off we go again with the airbrush ..... first up a quarter of BR Blue Class 47/4s - well if Bachmann dont want to do them then I will, next up Inter City Executive and ScotRail Class 47s, Fictional Strathclyde PTE Class 153, a BR Blue Class 60, a pair of ROG Class 57/3s, N Gauge ScotRail Class 68 and sticking with N Gauge and InterCIty Swallow Class 87, a Maroon Observation Car, 47470 Universit yof Edinburgh and finally for today - a big .... 33025 which was in BR Blue but is having the roof painted and renumbered ......

I know of a few people who have emailed Simon or spoken to him at shows previously about this and it gets the nod .... but then ignored .........The 87 Pantograph is awful snd very plastic and prone to snapping ..... lets hope the ones on the 91 are better .......

A couple of Class 90s done today ..... 90002 Wolf of Badenoch in Inter City Swallow as per LSL and 90048 in Freightliner Grey Livery ...... 90048 will be grubbed up tomorrow but 90002 is going to start ex works ......

Hi Jerry ..... sounds silly but its DCR Grey which is available ready mixed from Rainbow Railways ....... as is the Puma Grey for 60074 ..... How many duplications .... lol

After what seems like a lifetime of transfers and putting things back together .....finally got back on the paints today .....progress on the following : a pair of ROG Class 57/3s, Freightliner Green Class 90, a fictional Strathclyde PTE Class 153, Inter City Executive Class 87, EWS Class 47, a fictional Deltic Style Two tone Green Class 66, the oddball 47627 in 'Celebrations' Livery, an ROG Class 47, Inter City Executive Class 47, Puma Liveried Class 60, DCR Liveried Class 60 and finally the obligatory pile of Class 47s in Large Logo ......

Shock .... doing 90002 as well !! Though may well keep this one for myself ......

A few bits finished off today .... 66175 Rail Riders Express in DB Cargo Livery, 47120 RAF Kinloss & 47541 The Queen Mother in Large Logo Livery and finally 37263 in BR Blue with Highland Rail Stag and Working Scottish Region Style Headlamp .....

Have to say that I have, with a heavy heart, canceled my Heljan order for their ETHEL .... be interesting to see is SLW produce a motored or un-motored one .... either way am looking forward to this model and this may be a case of the 'smaller' manufacturer usurping the 'bigger' manufacturer and their offerings .... time will tell I guess ...

Oh Heljan and Bachmann ...... now do I cancel my ETHEL 1 order for the Heljan Version ...........yep cancelled !!!
