  1. I work at Woodburn Junction Signalbox and if you want to see anything going over wicker arches we have 6J57 from Rotherham to Deepcar run Mondays to Fridays at around 18:15/18:30 and it returns (as 6J58) between 20:00 & 21:00 usually with a 66 on the front but sometimes a 60 can be seen on it. Also the railhead treatment train is due to start running again soon which is usually top and tailed with a pair of 66's but this year we are promised that a pair of 20's will be used (20189 in green & 20142 in blue... both which have been used for driver road learning for the past few weeks)
  2. You're lucky that id spent ages reviewing Inverness 37's for modelling possiblilties so had quite a few photos bookmarked and saved and after months of looking i changed my mind and decided to concentrate on Eastfield ones instead because i prefer split box 37s which Eastfield had more of Funnily enough it turned out to be the first one i looked at which was a pure fluke because none of the other photos i could find of 37263 don't show the markings
  3. I'd agree with Mark after comparing the front end markings on this photo of 37263 - http://www.flickr.co...N08/4238261114/
  4. no worries i'm trying to decide how to do 37081 and i've been trying to decide for 3 months now! it's either br blue with white stripe or large logo with the odd number style or large logo with standard numbers and small westie or large logo with standard numbers and large westie! so 37111 decisions are far less complicated
  5. Grrrrrr! I'd just worked out how i was going to model 37111 (Large logo and named Loch Eil Outward Bound) and now seeing those two photos of it with the odd number placing and original skirts i'm having second thoughts
  6. 158722, thanks again, i have 27045 wrote on the back of the photo but even when i scanned in the neg, i still thought it was wrong, you have confirmed it for me BTW I was looking at Airthrey Park on fotopic a couple of months ago, excellent layout and plenty of inspiration there, especially the 26 mods done on the early Heljan 26's and after watching the vids on youtube i'm definitely going to add sound to at least one class 26 and 27, i was only going to do it to a couple of 37's but not anymore
  7. 158722, You sir are an absolute star thanks for the info on my unidentified 26's especially the "Glasgow's Smiles Better" one, i can now model this one
  8. awesome video, i'm so pleased you didn't compress the sound at all, i just LOVE that sound sad ending
  9. Oh the memories! it was touring the highlands behind 26's and 37's in the 80's that gave me my love of scotland! so much so that i visit the highlands two or three times a year now i may not go by train now because i'm not a sprinter fan (and i prefer to drive now) but it created a life time facination with the place that feels more like home than my home does
  10. 3 more 27's and a couple of 40's 27052 at Dundee 27045 at Inverness 27046 at Glasgow Queen Street 40060 at Haymarket 40160 at Dundee
  11. Thanks Peter, yep thats the inverness highland stags head on a yellow backed sticker instead of the usual white stags head when i finally get around to getting myself a Heljan class 27, thats one on my shortlist of candidates i'd like to model, just got to get a couple or three more 26's before i do though (I must stop buying models just to display and concentrate on getting my Scottish locos for a new layout instead ) (I have a photo of 27052 with the yellow stag too)
  12. A few 27's in July 1985 Firstly a couple of poor photos at Edinburgh Waverley, 27008 and 27026 27008 at Leuchars And a couple of shots at Inverkeithing, 27020 and 27051
  13. Thanks that and the one of 26037 outside inverness are my fave two 26 photos i ever got it's been a long time since i went through Dingwall by train, i drove through 2 years ago but never stopped, pity about the goods shed. thanks for the link to the signalbox interior, as a signalman myself it's always nice to check out other boxes
  14. Thought i'd add a few 26's in the mix from my trips in the 80's An unidentified 26 26036 arriving at Dingwall (Identified for my by 158722) 26032 at Achanalt 26037 at Inverness Another unidentified 26 26035 at Garve (Identified for me by 158722) A pair of unidentified class 26's at Achnasheen
