Julian
I have a 4mm DJH Caley tank, 55222, and want transfers for the bunker side numbering for BR 1950s. What size numbers are correct? I guess they'd be off-white/straw? Thanks for any help given.
RMweb Gold Argos Posted November 28, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 28, 2015 Julian, I have been building a model of this loco for a couple years (must get round to finishing it!). I am modelling her in 2mm. At some point in 1950s the loco was given a heavy overhaul, repainted and fitted with a stove pipe chimney and a different shaped dome. It is in this form I am modelling her. Back Track Vol 14 no 11 - November 2000 has some great colour pictures of 55222 in and around Killin taken in 1958 (She is also on the cover in glorious colour) Back issues can normally be found for a few quid if you search. A search of the web will also generate some pictures (I certainly found some but I can't post them here as I don't own the copyright). The lettering at this point looks to be white. Hope this helps

Aberbrothock
Recently pretty well completed my DJH tank and added numbers which look to be about right......... Transfers from an old P C Models sheet in cream. I know the coaches should be ex CR or LMS, but the Hornby Gresleys are quite acceptable, I think. 55230 didn't get the dreaded stove pipe chimney! souwest
Hi, Going back a few years from the 1950s, what sized letters for the tender numbers for LMS locos? I think I recall they were closer together north of the border. Souwest
